UPDATED: MAR 20, 2009 I bought a pint of this in Interlaken, Switzerland. I loved it! Very tasty! Makes for a good excuse for a return to such a beautiful country.

3.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
My go-to light beer in CH. Not a great aroma but excellent taste and finish. Almost sweet on the palate but light and very easy to drink. This is a necessity to have on hand.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Golden beer with a fluffy white head, and a malty dryly hopped aroma. The flavour is dry with a long lasting finish. Overall a reasonable lager.

Hand-carried from Switzerland (thanks "N"). Touted as "The Local Beer of Interlaken." Great example of the style. Little lasting head, but nice lacing; clear yellow color. Good mouthful, with smooth, mild taste that was quite drinkable. No, you won’t find complexity here; but compared to so many other Euro Pale Lagers, this one is well done. I wish it were available in the US.

[on tap somewhere in Interlaken]
No diacetyl, which was surprising after tasting their other beers. Fresh hops aroma together with crisp malt and a tiny bit of sweet corn. Clear straw with a lasting, white, rocky head. Crisp flavour of grain and hay. Two-row malt plus a bit of subdued hops with well-balanced bittering and carbonation. Lemony finish that may be from fermentation. Light to medium body and medium carbonation.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
33cl bottle at Piz Gloria at the top of the Schilthorn. Pale straw with a tight white head; araoma of leafy Germanic hops; medium bidy with a grainy flavour; and a crisp clean lightly bitter finish. Rather good, but that may have just been down to drinking it at an altitude of 3000 meters.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
This was an okay pilsener. Sadly, it had some of that stale cardboard aftertaste that unfortunately predominates in the average pils. Tried on my trip to Bern in 2013.

Sampled unfiltered, Zwickelbier
Cloudy blond color; nice head and lace. Simple aroma, but better taste than the Alpenperle.
