COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using Cascade, Columbus and Chinook hops, California Grown malted barley and crystal malt. A mild caramel sweetness gives way to a fresh pine & grapefruit citrus note and balanced bitterness for a dry and refreshing but flavorful ale.

In the past, this beer is brewed by Peter Hoey using Hoppy Brewing Company’s equipment for Ruhstaller.

Poured two fingers of tight, foamy head on a deep red colored body. The aroma is a rich malt/barnyard smell. One-side but nice. The taste is bold: lots of malt sweetness with a dose of lemon bitterness to balance it out. The maltiness still comes out ahead in the end. The texture is thicker with moderate carbonation. A big malty red ale, enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark amber brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly roasted, malty and hopped. The flavour is quite roasted and chocolatey with plenty of hops and bitterness at the finish. Overall a nice dark hopped and roasted beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Bottledog drunk on a train. Hazy brown russet lasting thick beige head. Malty aroma slightly stale American beer aroma. We get that a lot in the UK but less so now. But I guess this is better when fresh. Although the flavour and finish on this is fine. It’s just that sticky toffee aroma. Ok. Just a little stale ok strawberry jam.

Ferguson special. It pours clear deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is caramel, piney, juicy, brown bread, toffee, resin and citrus peel. The taste is oily, toffee, candied citrus peel, juicy, varnish, brown sugar and brown bread with a caramel finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. So-so.
