Opaque black - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and airy with good fine carbonation. Very mild dark malts, a little cream and a whisper of dark chocolate. Smooth piney hops with a trace of orange citrus. Smooth finish. Nothing shouty about this, itís just a fine smooth cda.

Perhaps it is because this bottle might have gotten cooked on the ride from Tahoe to the Bay, but this didnít have much hop presence and tasted more like a porter. Lightly bitter, clean finish. Malty, sugary body. Meh.

Medium sweet flavor with sugary brown bread, grains, pine, ripe citrus, grapefruit. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, some brown bread. Lightly aged pine, hints of toasted caramel, brown sugar, dark citrus. Pretty OK.

The taste is bitter, toasty, earth, plum, citrus peel, mild acidity, ash, decent bitterness and caramel with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Good black IPA by all accords.

355ml can. Black liquid with brown foam that sticks around for the duration. Aroma has malty treacle and cola notes but not overly hoppy. Taste much the same. Hop resin at the edges. Fairly thick and creamy on the tongue with moderate bitterness. Decent black IPA, just lacking some bite perhaps.
