Bottle. Pours a clear, mahogany color with a nice, creamy head. Sweet, malty aroma with a mix of different berries. Smooth taste with a cross of roasted malt and light tart. Not much hops. Alcohol is masked. Not an amazing barley wine, but I really did enjoy the bottle!

Bottle from Corti Brothers, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with a rich tan head and a dark fruit and molasses aroma. There is a sweet dark malt flavor with some brown sugar, spice and a warm alcohol trail.

On tap @ Provisions Market. Copper pour with an off-white head. Aromas of sweet fruit, toffee, and brown sugar. Apple pie filling, cinnamon, and cola notes, too. Interesting. Flavor is very sweet. Lots of brown sugar, apple pie, and cola. Toffee, raisin, and some caramel and toffee. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish. Light alcohol.

Bomber from nugget in west sac. Poured dark caramel with nice white head and great lacing. Aroma is very malty and yeasty. Some flavors of cinnamon and bread come through. Some camel notes. I still come back to yeasty. Overall is ok, sad I missed the opportunity to add this beer, Iím slacking.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from the Nugget in Woodland, CA. Pours dark ruddy copper with a slight beige/tan head. Damníd if it doesnít seem to have an apple aroma. Might not have gone that way except for the prior rating, but thatís what it is now for me. Underlying brown sugar. Full bodied. Flavor is sort of apple with dark fruit like prune, and maybe a little date, seems to have some light chocolate, and thereís a lot of brown sugar character. Despite which it isnít very sweet. Warm it in your mouth and smack a bit. Very taste smacking. Not a trace of heat. Drinks exceptionally smooth.

Had a very apple forward nose and on the forefront of the pallet. Had nice spice notes accompanied well by the Carmel malt flavor. Nice hop presence not being too overwhelming maintaining style appropriate bitterness. Imagine Lagunitas Brown shugga barleywine not as sweet and apple forward and thatís what this beer is for me.

Clear amber red color. Malty sweet smells. Big sweet flavor, that hop bitters and then fades with a mild sweet stick. Best balance barley wine i have ever had.

Malty and red ale hints with a bit of yeastiness to the aroma. Ruby red in color with a frothy light tan head. Smooth start with an almost cola feel of light malt and sugar, Incredibly tasty. a bit sweet.
