Rich, full bodied Porter with a subtle, sweet smoky aroma thanks to the famous smoked malt from Bamberg, Germany. The malt driven character is balanced by a spicy dark fruit aroma from the Bullion and Willamette hops.

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Pours black with beige head. Smoked sweaty gym shirt aroma, taste has a tempered smoke quality, some malty woodiness, smooth and drinkable with charred ash on the finish. For a new brewery this isn’t bad at all.

Bottle from Beermoth, Northern Quarter, Manchester, consumed at home B/H Monday 4th May 2015 Black or pretty damn close to Black with a Guinness like creamy large head. Soft and smooth with some cocoa but with a tanginess and a whilst roasty and malty it is not heavy. There is a smokiness throughout but it is a gentle light smoked beer backed with a pleasant hoppy bite. A lovely beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

330ml bottle at home. Pours a deep dark brown with a red tinge. Beige frothy head with slight lacing on the glass. Aroma of blackberry and a smoke tinge. Taste hints of fruit, chocolate and a distinct smokey after taste with hoppy notes. Does what it says on the tin. Smoked Porter. Good.

Keg - I mostly got this because it was described as ’very smokey!’. It was not, but it was still fairly nice - really dark red with a rocky light brown frothy head. Good lacing and good retention. Aroma is lightly smokey, full of chocolate and with some hints of berries. Taste of roast malt, grassy hop and fruit followed by cocoa, smoke and light bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation.
