COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Alt is a much stronger version of the traditional Dusseldorf Altbiers. An ancient style from the Rhineland, Altbiers are ales that were virtually wiped out by German lagers in the 1800’s. We use plenty of European hops and German pilsner malts to brew a remarkably clean beer. We then rest it in the cooler for two months to achieve the mellow finish that is the Überalt’s trademark.

My favorite from Rush River. I don’t usually favor higher alcohol beers, but the smell and bite from this alt were great with the full taste. Even had a good aftertaste, and liked the second half of the glass as much as the first.

Reddish orange pour some persistent head. Aroma is grassy. Toasty rye flavor. Tastes sweet hay, caramel, spicy grain, some sour lactic. Sweet palate, but approachable not excessively sweet.

12oz bottle. Glowing orange-copper color. Thin, creamy white head. Pleasantly true-ish to style, nice toasty brown malt notes. Muted noble hops, faint spiciness in the background. Has some of the nice caramel sweetness if a Sticke, but not quite as refined as an authentic version. Comes off a touch boozy, and yet still a little hollow and one-dimensional as well. An interesting effort.

12oz bottle pours a bright amber with a large khaki head. Aroma of caramel and toffee malts, graham cracker, and grassy hops. Very sweet fruits and caramel with a hard hit of alcohol. Too sweet, too boozy.

Pour on tap at Republic, dark reddish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of sweet caramel, toffee, and sugars, some slight toast, some hints of nuts, dark red ripe fruits as well. Taste is a mix of dark sugars with toffee and caramel, some red fruits, nuts, earth and spice, touch of herbal notes, slight toast, finishing fairly sweet.

On tap at Republic. Pour is a hazy amber. Smell is nice and malty. The beer hides its booze well, a nice balance. Went well with the fish tacos! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12-oz. Thanks, B! Pours a murky dark amber with loose tan head. Big graham cracker and wet grass nose. Creamy medium body with little carb. Graham crackers and wet grass on the mid palate. Maybe a little lettuce in there. Mild toasty crackery finish.

Had this beer at the 4th Annual Casanova Beer Cave Festival. Nice sweet boozy taste, not what I expected.
