On tap at Republic. Pour is a hazy amber. Smell is nice and malty. The beer hides its booze well, a nice balance. Went well with the fish tacos!

Bottle - Watch the pour on this baby, unless you like tons of floaties in your altbier. Pours clear copper with a small foamy off-white head--that is it was clear until I poured the rest of the bottle into my glass and it turned into chunk city. Hey you guys! Anyways, nose is sweet fruity raisin bread, with a light toasted graininess. Taste is soured a bit, with big yeast notes, some sharp herbal notes, and a spicy, boozy sharpness on the finish. 8.5%? Holy balls...wasn’t expecting that. Loses points on the palate for the big ass floaties. Expected a litlte more out of this one.

10/22/11. 12oz bottle. Hazy amber pour with a small khaki head that fades but sticks. Muted malty aroma with a touch of caramel and something that reminds me of oxidation. Slightly fruity flavor that lingers with chocolate and caramel as well as a bitter, grainy aspect. Not bad.
