COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Alt is a much stronger version of the traditional Dusseldorf Altbiers. An ancient style from the Rhineland, Altbiers are ales that were virtually wiped out by German lagers in the 1800ís. We use plenty of European hops and German pilsner malts to brew a remarkably clean beer. We then rest it in the cooler for two months to achieve the mellow finish that is the ‹beraltís trademark.

Pours an amber color, fairly clear, and a medium off white head. Aroma is malty with caramel, bread, nuts, and some hops in the background. Taste is sweet malts, caramel, toffee, toasted nuts, and fresh bread. Didnít get much as far as the hops, but it was good either way. Medium body, kind of a syrup feel like pop has, but pretty smooth and mellow.

Clear auburn pour with a thin off white head. Aroma is caramel and bready malt, sweet, deep grainy notes, bread crust and light herbal and spicy hops. Flavor is deeply toasty and grainy up front, nice caramel notes that remind me a bit cheap scotch, toffee, bread crust, doughy yeast, spicy hops. Medium body, slightly syrupy and oily feel, medium, but sharp carbonation. Good stuff overall, a little boozy, but the flavor profile suits it well.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours a hazy orange with a small head.

The aroma is pretty caramelly. Itís got some chocolate & cherry. The alcohol is evident but mild on the nose.

The flavor is sweet but not overwhelmingly so. The caramel is fairly restrained itís got some honey & certainly some alcohol bite. The toasty malt character is really enjoyable & probably my favorite aspect of the beer.

Aroma is fruit, malts and hints of dark bread and nuttiness. The flavor is moderately strong malts, fruit, nutty notes and a slightly sour/dry finish.

Pours a clearish copper/amber. Creamy head, some lace. Above average carb. Aroma is nutty and caramel. Sweet toasty. Some ripe fruits. Full mouthfeel, malty somewhat sweet. Minerally slightly boozy, with Oktoberfest kind of flavor/character.Not shure if I think its smooth, seems like an ale to me. Pretty decent, not real familiar or too experienced with this style though.

Tap at New Bohemia. Solid copper coloring and a hearty lacing. Lots of malt here. Aroma is sweet and malty. Hop is absent which was expected. Notes of caramel and maybe toffee. Surprised this one impresses me. I would give it a shot if you come across it.

My favorite from Rush River. I donít usually favor higher alcohol beers, but the smell and bite from this alt were great with the full taste. Even had a good aftertaste, and liked the second half of the glass as much as the first.

Reddish orange pour some persistent head. Aroma is grassy. Toasty rye flavor. Tastes sweet hay, caramel, spicy grain, some sour lactic. Sweet palate, but approachable not excessively sweet.

12oz bottle. Glowing orange-copper color. Thin, creamy white head. Pleasantly true-ish to style, nice toasty brown malt notes. Muted noble hops, faint spiciness in the background. Has some of the nice caramel sweetness if a Sticke, but not quite as refined as an authentic version. Comes off a touch boozy, and yet still a little hollow and one-dimensional as well. An interesting effort.
