I love me some india pale ales - but this one doesn’t quite make the grade.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 parkerj (5) - - DEC 1, 2012 does not count
I was not a fan at all. As far as I can tell, the bottle was fresh. Despite this, the beer seemed to taste off--as if I had a pint from a tap line that wasn’t properly maintained.
Fortunately, it was light bodied for an IPA, so it went down pretty quickly. I would probably retry this one, as the flavor makes it seem like I just got a bad bottle, but it was so light I’m not sure that it would make any difference.

Nice foamy head, golden yellow/orange colour, a bit hazy. Aroma of lemons, and a bit of sweet fruit. Taste is nicely bitter, grapefruit, a lingering bitterness at the back of the mouth. Average mouthfeel, maybe a bit soft. Not bad.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - SEP 13, 2012
12oz bottle with no date on the bottle, so I’m not sure how old this is. Picked it up on a recent trip to the ’sconsin. Poured into a pint glass.
Pours a clear pale orange with a moderately thick white head on top. Big citrusy nose that is inviting me to partake. Orange, lemon, floral tones - nice refreshing nose. The mouth is crisp, yet creamy. A little sharp, but smooth on the back end. Nice big citrus flavors greet me with sweet tangerine, orange rind, lemon zest. Bitterness is moderate and accessible. This is a great IPA for novices and geeks alike. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but this surprised me. I would grab this again for sure.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 fiveacestx (351) - Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2012
Bottle - has a hazy yellow appearance. The overload of carbonation seems to be causing this. It has a thick head to it with some lacing. This one is definitely different than other IPAs. It seems more like lager with a hopped up taste to it. The body is light to medium and the palate is lacking.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Travlr (7997) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 17, 2012
Draft. Clear golden yellow color, thick white head, delicate lacing. Aroma of pine and pineapple. Taste has pine and tropical fruit in a bit of an odd combo that grows on you.
