COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our favorite styles, this ale is a hop explosion. Light in color, heavily hopped in the kettle as well as conditioned with several unique hop varieties. This creates a beautiful floral/citrusy nose which is balanced well by a smooth and full finish.

Bottle - from trade with pepperford - I think the bottle may have been a bad one. Opened with no psst at all. Poured and the tiniest wisp of carbonation created a "head" that wasn’t really even a head. Nose was muted and not really even there. Decent balance, I guess, on the palate. I couldn’t get too many hops on this one, so maybe it wasn’t supposed to be this way. I will re-rate if I can get my hands on another bottle. However, the one I had was very dissapointing.

[Bottle] Pours an almost clear gold with a small soapy off white head. Aroma is citric hops with a little caramel malt. Flavor is a little woody/earthy, nice hops, and a bit bitter on the finish.

Bottled. Poured medium golden with a whole helluva lot of sediment floating around in there. The aroma was nice and juicy with candied oranges and a bit of bubblegum leading.. it was so sweet that I had trouble finding anything behind. The flavor wasn’t a surprise after that nose.. sweet sugary orange candies all over with a bit of spicy floral bitterness and orange zest around.. finished with an odd sweet and bitter contrast. Medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a very sweet complexion.. kinda hard to drink.

Tasted 9/24/08. Thanks Keir! 12oz bottle. Largely sedimented with a copper hue. Trace white head. Fruity floral apple aromas. Bright hoppy nose. Medium bodied and bright yet bitter. Zippy and crisp palate. Slightly sticky finish, but the bitterness lingers longer. Not over the top, but a good palate. Sediment is the only dissapointing aspect, but that’s only visual. Everyday session drinking!

Cloudy golden yellow-orange with a slowly fading white head full of floating hops. Aroma of heavy floral hops, bread, dough and citrus. Taste of heavy hops as well, floral and citrus, mildly vegetal. Pine and some sweet malt to balance it out that lead way to a semi bitter finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

Light gold body with a bright white head. Strong grapefruit with some almonds. The taste is very bitter with lots of grapefruit and some toast. A finish of bitter almond shells. Fairly well done with plenty of bitterness in the finish. Decent.

Quite a solid IPA. For some reason I thought this was coming from the same people who do Falls Brewing and South Shore, which are in my opinion, unimpressive. This beer is not super-special, but I liked it. Appearance is a cloudy gold color with 2cm of white head. Aroma is pretty hoppy but not all that pungent...a bit of citrus. Taste is pretty mild; noticeably hoppy but hardly aggressively so. Mouthfeel is smooth. A very agreeable beer, but not all that special. A friend (SurlySober) brought this over; no idea where it came from.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange with some floaties. Aroma has soft hop presence & some citrus grapefruity. Taste is smooth but rather tame in terms of hops. I think the bottle maybe a bit dated hence the lack of hoppiness. Pretty good

Pours a clear orange colour with a medium sized white head. Creamy on the palate. Not a whole lot of hops, or at least as much as one would expect for an IPA. Slightly piney with grapefruit, lime and soft spicey flavors.

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright yellow color. It is a lot lighter than I expect for IPAs. My bottle had a large amount of agitated sediment floating around. I am assuming this is not very normal so I am paying no attention to it. Head is crisp white with nice lacing but a little lacking on retention. The nose is wonderful! It has a dominating aroma of fresh hop pellets. Very nice! Nice citrus hops that are not too in your face and overwhelming, just right. Flavor is nice and creamy. Malt starts it all out quickly filled by that citrus hops you find in the nose. This is what I expect IPAs to do, be overly hop heavy with just enough malt backbone to make sure everything isn’t out of whack. Mouthfeel is just a tinge in the syrupy side but not too bad. A nice beer that I have overlooked for a long time.
