COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our favorite styles, this ale is a hop explosion. Light in color, heavily hopped in the kettle as well as conditioned with several unique hop varieties. This creates a beautiful floral/citrusy nose which is balanced well by a smooth and full finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a beige head. Super heavy carbonation. Aroma is very sweet with hops, citrus, and caramel. Taste is very hoppy up front. Not overly bitter, but very sweet. Not much substance after the initial hop bite. Light mouthfeel, that goes down smooth. Tasty and easy drinkable, if not underwhelming.

Crushed with Jakebra. Got this one cask-conditioned at Three Cellars in Milwaukee. Got some hop presence but not much. So thin it’s almost anorexic. The finish is very bitter but has no other hop presence.

Thanks PhillyBeer2112! Copper color with a thin white head and a little lacing. The aroma is of citrus hops and some malt. The malt comes through a little more in the flavor. Some slight toasted flavors with a hop precense that seems lacking against the malts. Not bad, but not great.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - OCT 31, 2008
Courtesy PhillyBeer2112. Pours a very lightly hazy, golden-orange color with a small, swirly, off-white head. Minimal, spotty lacing noted. The aroma shows a cardboard-like, stale graininess with a strong wheat presence and old, citrus and floral hops. Flavors are similar, sweet caramel malts and dry cereal grains being accompanied by a mildly bitter orange and floral hop presence. Medium bodied, with light to moderate carbonation, there is a dry, biting astringency that lingers on the finish. This one didn’t impress.

PhillyBeer2112 (2525) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - OCT 30, 2008
Courtesy theisti. Amber color, light foamy head. Lightly hoppy, bits of citrus and pine. Light palate, very easy drinking. The wheat lightens it up a little. Mild bitter finish with a lingering grapefruit hoppy flavor.

12oz old via trade. Pours light orange with a bright white head. Nose has light hops. Taste is sweet with a lot of citrus and big pine. Tastes better than it smells.

Bottle - from trade with pepperford - I think the bottle may have been a bad one. Opened with no psst at all. Poured and the tiniest wisp of carbonation created a "head" that wasn’t really even a head. Nose was muted and not really even there. Decent balance, I guess, on the palate. I couldn’t get too many hops on this one, so maybe it wasn’t supposed to be this way. I will re-rate if I can get my hands on another bottle. However, the one I had was very dissapointing.

[Bottle] Pours an almost clear gold with a small soapy off white head. Aroma is citric hops with a little caramel malt. Flavor is a little woody/earthy, nice hops, and a bit bitter on the finish.

Bottled. Poured medium golden with a whole helluva lot of sediment floating around in there. The aroma was nice and juicy with candied oranges and a bit of bubblegum leading.. it was so sweet that I had trouble finding anything behind. The flavor wasn’t a surprise after that nose.. sweet sugary orange candies all over with a bit of spicy floral bitterness and orange zest around.. finished with an odd sweet and bitter contrast. Medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a very sweet complexion.. kinda hard to drink.

Tasted 9/24/08. Thanks Keir! 12oz bottle. Largely sedimented with a copper hue. Trace white head. Fruity floral apple aromas. Bright hoppy nose. Medium bodied and bright yet bitter. Zippy and crisp palate. Slightly sticky finish, but the bitterness lingers longer. Not over the top, but a good palate. Sediment is the only dissapointing aspect, but that’s only visual. Everyday session drinking!
