12 oz. bottle. Creamy, dessert-sweet aroma features chocolate (especially chocolate mousse) and lemon scents. Pours a dark brown with a moderate to large amount of thick, taupe head. Produces good lacing. Flavor is tart, tarry, and bitter at first. Coffee beans. Lemon sourness. Alcohol noticeable in the finish. The taste is not nearly as sweet as the aroma suggests. Milk chocolate or carob emerges upon multiple sips. The taste is that of an artificial chocolate, like a Tootsie Roll. Light bodied and soft in the palate. Rush River Chocolate Oatmeal Stout (thatís how itís labeled, by the way; no ďNevermoreĒ to be seen on the bottle) is surprisingly interesting, but it is merely interesting and not particularly good.

Great looking beer...Very dark red color, almost pitch black, lots of floating sediment and tall foamy brown head. Aromatic roasted chocolate malt aroma. Taste is rich, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee. Tastes a lot like the super-dark 60% cacao Geridelli chocolates that my mother-in-law always has on hand. Good bittering hops on the tail end. Just an overall excellent stout. Big, rich, complex, drinkable. Maybe the best stout Iíve had.

Tap at WA Frost. Dark brownish red color, medium wispy espresso head. Flavor is chocolate malts, oats, vanilla beans. Soft and easy drinking, medium bodied. This is a solid session beer once again from Rush River.

Pours very dark with decent brown head that fades quickly and not much lacing. Aroma is sweet lactose that is pretty restrained overall and has only a hint of roast to it. Taste is much more sweet than stout - which is fine. Then, a little bit of dark malts and just another hint of roast. Not really any coffee. Palate is noticeably carbonated with a pretty thin, hollow, watery finish - the beerís only obvious flaw. Still, if this is truly 8%, itís masked well, and goes down easy.
