Pours a hazy amber with a larger head than I expected, looks nice. Aroma of caramel and fruit. Flavor is decent, not as good as the aroma suggests. Thin palate.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazed amber with a small white head that leaves some lace. The aroma is of hops and amber sweetness - smells great. The flavor is sweet, yeasty, fruity, peaches, malty, white pepper, caramel, and sugar cookies. The flavor has it all - much more interesting than most Amber Ales. The palate rocks as it is rich and cleansing. This is a real good Amber! Iíll get this again.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of thebeardedbrewer shared withNaka. Pours amber with mild red hues. Small, filmy white head. Nose is floral and citrus hops with sweet caramel. Taste is caramel and chocolate with some mild nutty notes. Solid hopping. Not too bitter, but just enough. Decent, earthy hop flavor. Very good amber. Solid caramel and hop balance.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2008 On tap. A nice cloudy amber with a thin head in the glass. Lots of sweet malts in the nose, with some decent hope character coming through as well. Smells better than most pale ales. The flavor is a bit more hardy than most pale ales Iíve tried - some hints of dark fruit come through - although the flavor is mostly sweet, almost chewy malts with some mildly bitter fruity hops. Definitely some caramel in there too. The mouth feel is thick and smooth for the style. Definitely a plus. Upon a second tasting, this beer is far better that I thought - really delicious.

Great taste and mouthfeel of sweet malts, caramel, something fruity, and a little hops..

Everything a flagship beer should be. Has something for everyone. Beautiful amber color. Light malt aroma. In the mouth is where it shines, though. Packed with flavor. Good balance between malt and hops. Very clean tasting. Finish is smooth.

an almost chunky, not small chunks mind you, burnt umber orangish color with a quickly diminishing off white head. slightly sweet and hoppy on the front, with a nice herbal tone. a good full mouth feel, almost chewy. good choice for cheese (not too funky) and dried sausage.

12 oz bottle (no date notched) thanks to Tytoanderso. Pours an amber color with a a thin off white head that fades quickly to a wispy river - like the label. Nose is malty. Lots of red apples, biscuits, grains. Similar nose, but not even as good. The toasted grains dominate the flavor with lots of fruit, mostly red apples and a little citrus. Dough and yeast intermingle with the grains. This becomes a little more annoying the longer I drink.

Courtesy SoLan. Cloudy amber with a thin white head. Light hops over a moderate biscuity malt base. Slight hop character on the taste, uneventful maltiness. Pretty basic, although hoppier than most.

Courtey tytoanderso. Clear amber. Insignificant head. Aroma of fruity hops and toasty caramel malt. Same flavor. Medium/light body, balanced carbonation, easy to drink. Nice session amber.
