COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Spring Seasonal) 6%– A new take on an old style. Saison’s originated in the South of Belgium and are famous for the distinctive fruity, spicy notes given off from the yeast. They also tend to be lighter, effervescent, and quenching. Bauli Saison is all of that, but adds a unique twist. We’ve added White Peppercorns, Coriander, and Kaffir Lime Leaves to the beer to enhance the spice flavors naturally produced by the yeast as well as adding a distinct citrus flavor to make it a lighter beer on the palate but still providing tons of flavor.

Jimmy’s no. 43, NYC tap: Pours golden with a white head that leaves lacing. Aroma is yeasty, sugar, spice, pepper, and hops. Taste is less sweet than the aroma would have you expect. There is definitely some bitterness going on in this beer. Nice bite right along the finish. The hops and the white peppercorns seem to do their work pretty nicely.

Banana nutty yeasty aromas and flavors. Lighter palate than some saisons. Dry finish and not sweet or sugary taste. Solid saison. Nice and refreshing but a bit if an odd dirty aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

discernible lime notes in nose. slightly tart, assertive lime flavor and bitterness. the kaffir lime flavors are well done, balanced -- up front but not out of line. light body. in the finish there a dull off-putting note, perhaps the after affect of the pepper and spices.

In short: A refreshing, spicy, slightly tart and semi-rustic blonde Saison. Very good.
How: Tap at Tap-NY festival 2013.
The look: Clear yellow-blonde body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is semi-rustic, fruity esters, lemongrass, wheaty sensation, peppery spiciness. Taste is fruity (tropical fruits mostly), white peppercorns, rustic yeast, wheaty seantion, lime, floral hops. A medium tartness an a good attenuation. Very refreshing brew. Overall light wheaty sensation in the aroma and taste although I doubt this beer is actually wheat-based. I’m a pretty laid back dude and I don’t mind being called a drunk by someone serving me beer at a beer festival but I sure didn’t appreciate being called a psychedelic drug user by that levitating naked green chick who poured me this beer out of a buffalo horn.
