Draft at Bier and Cheese, Astoria, NYC. Pretty, deep leathery red body, creamy head. Dense resiny hops, sweet, heartier grains in middle. Strong, tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2015 I really enjoyed this. I am surprised to see the low rating. Crisp piney citrus hops and very well pronounced maltiness that isn’t too thick.

Tap at Gingerman. Pours reddish with nose of malt and red fruit. Tastes of caramelized malts, bread, cranberry, honey, pine, and light cough syrup. Not too thick palate despite the rich mouthfeel if that makes sense.

Very nice floral citrus hop aroma with some slight piney as well. Flavor is caramelized malt well balanced by the hops. Maybe slightly sweet but well balanced by the hops, finishes piney bitter. Really a solid beer. Like a double ipa with a caramelized malt base. Another good one from rushing duck. Flavor is a bit more piney hops, but the aroma has lots of floral and citrus. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy deep amber with tall off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, grapefruit, light resin. Taste is medium hoppy with balancing malty sweet backbone, light bitter lingering finish. Light to medium body with soft carbonation.

Growler shared by Michael K. Poured a thinner to medium body deep honey brown. This beer has the smoothness of a bad ass ninja turtle, carbination of Splinter before he became a master. Flavor of hop juice, grains, dough, some sugar, burnt honey, weed. I like it.

In short: Rich caramelized malts with refreshing fruity hops. Easy to drink strong ale.
How: Tap at Tap-NY festival 2013.
The look: Partly cloudy dark amber body topped by a small beige head with good retention
In long: Nose is rich, malty, fruity, hoppy. In mouth the beer feels very rich but not heavy. Luscious caramel, juicy citrusy fruits, cream texture, bitter grapefruits in the finish. Full body with big soft bubbles, nice velvety mouthfeel. A beer that is both very rich, very nourishing but also surprisingly refreshing. Very good take on the no-sytle American Strong Ale genre, rich maltiness well balanced by generous hopping with a refreshing character. You will love this beer regardless if you are a malt lover or a hophead, this is a beer that kills two birds with one stone, which is something I also like to do, actually I like to kill as many birds as possible with whatever object I can find, I just hate birds.
