3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear light amber colour with a big frothy white head. Aroma is a light mix of grains and caramel malts with not much else really. Taste is mildly bitter initially, which is followed by a lingering sweetness. Light body, average carbonation, thinner on the palate. A very enjoyable bitter.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ The Flying Pig (Gastown). Amber colored pour with a soapy off-white head. Some bread, toasted malt, and floral hops. Slightly spicy and earthy. A lot of caramel, too. Flavor is a bit on the sweet side--lots of caramel and toast. Slight brown sugar. Light grassy bitterness. Some earthy and a lot of leafy, floral hops. Probably not terribly authentic as an ESB, but I liked it.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice copper golden colour, thin head, slight floral hop aroma. First sip, I am taken aback. Extremely complex bitterness, moves from the sides to the back of the tongue, leaving a lingering ghost of the huge flavour in its wake. Sparkling on the tongue, very refreshing, this is a grade a beer. On tap.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very clear light brown with a reasonable pale head. Aroma is toffee, wildflowers, herbal hops. Reasonably light bodied, bitter on the palate with a dry finish and burnt aftertaste. Taste is burnt toffee, citrus pith, caramel, black pepper. A little overly bitter for my liking.
