Canned sample. Medium yellow in colour with fairly strong and spritzy carbonation. Aroma of stale pilsner malt and dirty dishwater. More stale grainy malts in the mouth, along with an odd chemical burn. Very poor.

Can shared with mabel & jerc. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma seems off, tart and a bit cheesy. Dirty yeast strain, maybe? Or infected? Flavour is oddly sweet & sour, with a strong lemon character (so much so that I checked to make sure I hadn’t poured the lemon ale by mistake), and a short, tart finish. Not very nice.

[1781-20081015] 355 can. Mild very odd gingery grains, Christmas wrapping paper, and honey. Clear, yellow brown body with a quick bubbly white head. Mild acidic sourness in the flavour but is mostly lemon honey with a hint of being off. Light body. Not pleasant.

2008-10-15. Lemony acidic aroma, lemongrass, light must, very light malt touches. Flavour is tart-acidic, notes of lemony fruity. Little if any honey character. Average to thin palate. Pretty meh, probably off. Might be abandoned but for the fact that the next couple samples from Russell also show signs of being a bit off, or perhaps just an odd formulation. Can shared by GregClow

335ml can. Pours a slightly hazy, slightly orange yellow with a good sized white head. A pretty good looking beer. Lemony sweet aroma with similar flavour. Light bitterness in the finish. Not too bad, don’t know where the honey comes in though.

Pale yellow colour. Light aroma is slightly flowery, with vague maltiness. Flavour is dominated by honey. Sticky sweet but light in body. Very light malt presence in the background. Like a cold honey tea. I can’t say it’s bad, but it’s pretty light and doesn’t really come together for me.
