COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aud Blonde may be the lightest colored beer we have ever brewed at Russian River Brewing Company, but don't be fooled into thinking that this beer is light in flavor. It has a refined characteristic, which can be contributed to us blending pilsner malt with a unique hop called crystal. The distinctive characteristic of the crystal hop lends a citrus, almost eucalyptus quality in the aroma and mouth feel of the brew, while leaving the beer with a long dry finish.

At brewery. Pours pale yellow clear. Nose of fruity hops. Corn grainy with a few hops thrown in. Watery and kind of like a Randalled Coors or Budweiser. Yuck.

On tap at the brewpub. Light pale yellow with a hint of haze. Tiny head. Lots of hay and yeast. Bit of bitterness. Light finish.

Pours pale yellow with almost no head. The aroma is grassy hops with a hint of fruity sweetness and grains. The flavor is nicely hoppy with a clean, crisp palate. Pretty dry. A very nice blonde.

Sampled at Russian River in Santa Rosa. Pours a transparent light yellow. Stale, grassy hops dominate. Very light on the palate. Not at all bad, especially for a blonde.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Surprisingly good flavour for a blond, and for the lower a.b.v. A little funky aroma. A good bitterness. Good white lace on yellow.

Draught sample at the brewpub. Good beer overall but this style is never one of my favorites honestly. Both the aroma and flavour were gentle and maybe a little on the sweet side. Just a hint of hops. Certainly refreshing if nothing else.

On draft at Russian River Brewing (Santa Rosa, CA): Pours a light, clear pee color topped with a white fluffy head. Aroma of light pilsner malts, clean dough, and fresh wheat. Chewy, earthy and delicately spiced hops lead the palate into another dimension, along with light grapefruit and light bready malts. Light mouthfeel. Crisp, smooth, balanced. Drinkability: Not a fan of blonde ales, but one of the better ones out there. Pairing: Thai chicken. Rebuy: Probably not. #348 on 30032010, DG.

Tap at Russian River. Very light golden yellow. Has an almost completely transparent appearance i.e. there is the slightest haze. Head fades away rather quickly. Looks like a decent pale lager instead of a golden ale. Sweet and sugary beer I must say. Some light fruits and yeast are coming through. Rather weak aroma and not very nuanced. Slight grass with a decent sugar and yeast flavor. This compared to the Happy Hops, another Golden Ale that Russian River makes, is a let-down. Very mediocre. and I think the ratings are a bit inflated due to the fact that this is Russian River (I.M.H.O).

On tap at O’Briens. Gold pour, white head. Grain, light malt, citrus, and some floral hops. Very easy drinking, and pretty tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.

On tap at brewery: Pale hued but not pale on flavor. Great lace. Crisp texture. Flavors of crackers and grains blended nicely with citrus and herbs. Finished with a healthy amount of bitterness and some dryness.
