Aroma was sour, with a bit of a musty funk to it. There is also some oak just rounding things out. Flavor, oaky, sour, with some light citrusy fruit notes. Quite tart and dry on the finish. Very nice, and when I get around to drinking one of the other batch I’ll put up notes on that. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a faintly hazed yellowish color with light whitish head. Smell is bright, lightly funky and sour, yet soft overall. Taste is much of the same mild tartness, oaky dryness and very pleasant funkiness. Very easy to drink, now that I’m more accustomed to sours. This is really nice stuff, and very mild compared to some. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA

Thanks Much to Jason for sharing, he is simply the coolest motha fucka around!
Cork pops off w/ authoritar and you can hear the carbonation in fairly large distinct individual bubbles rushing to the surface over a highly cloudy off orangish brown colored body.some nice lacing. Very nice full tart aroma, lots of brett. Some light fruits lots of woods, a note of alcohol or even nail polish some slightly harsh notes hints of floral hops or dried flowers. Palate is well coated and lightly fluffy. Flavor is odd good barel aging flavors of wood and some nice tart sour fruits some really off earthy leathery notes...
Good but not amazing as many before me have said.
ReRate... had a better bottle.. or a more acommodating palate this time.. its such a nice blend of funk and flavor.. very very good.. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Nose was loaded with deep lemony oak notes with additional underlying tones of citrus and honey. Well integrated sour oak flavors sit softly on on a base of citrusy (grapefruit), lemon and sweet honey notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, sour oaken finish. Freakin awesome! | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Bottle from PP Belgian Beer Fest. Glad I tried this one first. Sour fruits on the aroma. More sour cherry on the flavor. Very smooth in the finish. Sour but not acidic at all. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 22, 2006 Ph1. Hazed, opaque and murky, pale sun-kissed orange in color with beady pin points lining the wrung. Tenderly tart aroma is accented by lemon juice seeping into lime cobbler, with the oils oozing into oak. Fruit chews are in aromatic mastery, and mandarin saturating into wood keeps the smile pasted on the lips as they press onward. Sweet, mulled lemon juice flavor slips down the oak, previously saturated with chardonnay grape drippings. A flavor pedestal stands in the middle of a heartland prairie with just enough tart grease on it for piping pinot grapes to cling to it in the wind. Balsamic is segmented for its altruistically sweet and sourdough christened traits. Charming, medium-bodied and naturally lemon spirited greetings on their way out. Beautiful. Many thanks, Tom! | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Well, really interesting dinner of Foie Gras in burgers with truffle oil, wild mushrooms, brie cheese, and cognac somewhere in there.. etc I don’t know how to cook but damn they were some good burgers. But then this too!? Thanks to IrishBoy for this. Hazy orange body with a small and rapidly diminishing head. Very fizzy sounding. If my only sense was hearing, this sounded just like a BMC beer. Eventually nothing on top of the beer and no lacing. That’s the beer’s worst feature IMO. Aroma is awesome! Got the woody vanilla notes and the sour notes, but also some lambicy notes. Some barnyard action in there with sour everything fruits. A huge complexity in the aroma that carried over to the flavor and remained quite tart and sour. Mouthfeel was excellent. I don’t see what could be better other than appearance and having the "OMFG factor." I must now immediately downgrade Rodenbach Grand Cru after having this, because Beatification blows it away. Moral of the story: don’t judge a book by it’s cover. ucusty (1922), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
