Bottled, generously shared by imhper. Hazy vibrant orange colour witha low white foam. Huge, in-your-face, acidic aroma of grapefruit, wood, lemon and hot spices. Woody and acidic flavour of grapefruit, orange-peels, imatured grapes and dust. Feels quite light-bodied. Long and really acidic finish of lemon-peels and wood. I loce this stuff. Great!

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Batch 001. Review from July 6, 2014. Sampled next to Batch 6. Batch 001 is significantly darker. Amber with a small white head. Smell has a lot of red wine, oak, light acidity and oxidation. Tastes much less sour than Batch 6. Heavier malt and even some sweetness. Red wine flavors are strong. Oaky and slightly oxidized finish, but not bad. Almost flat. Glad I got to try this, but if it ever was as good as current batches of Beatification, it certainly isnít anymore.

Bottle of PH1 and Batch 1 at Jamesí 10k tasting.
PH1 Pours a hazed amber with a thin white head. Big cheesy funk on the nose, wood and brett. Big and tangy, acid is still bright, full of funk and barnyard. Long bright acid. Tons of depth and flavor going on here. Long tartness, lingering acid, super tangy. Amazing.
Batch 1 Pours a hazed amber with a hint of a white head. Less funk on the nose than the PH1, smoother. Medium bodied, a little tanginess, barnyard and funk. Long funk and wood. Good, but not the tangy wonder that was PH1.

Bottles, batch 1 & ph1. Golden pour with white head. Tart fruit, Brett, oak and other funky aromas. Flavors are barrel oak, funk, fruit and sweet tones. Batch 1 a bit less sour in aroma and Flavors.

Sour smell. Nicely balanced sour. Tastes kind of like Cantillon Vigneronne without the grapes.

Bottle. Clear dark yellow/brownish pour with a fleeting white head. Big malt and vinous bouquet. Really mellow with vinous notes dominating. Malt, oak, and vanilla undercurrents. Slight oxidation but not bad at all. Itís certainly not as tart as other batches. Side by side with batch 6 and there is a stark difference.

Shared at Ehrenís backyard bottle share party, holy sh!t, thanks so much! Poured from corked bottle into tulip snifters: hazy golden colour with sudsy white foam and lace. Grainy, tart, sour, earthy, funky, hints of tart cherry, yogurt cultures, sparkling lemonade, kombucha, white wine vinegar. Profoundly earthy, fruity, woodsy, composty. One of the most phenomenol beers Iíve ever tasted. Quite possibly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

375 ml bottle shared by daknole as part of a full vertical of Beatification. Wow, thanks, Dak! On the pour, they all look the same - pale, somewhat cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of acetic and lactic acid, grass, wood chips, lemon, dusty funk, cobwebs- beautiful. The flavor is the same, with tons of acidity and sourness. Bright, clean, and sharp. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation. Just incredible, and every batch is so closely matched.
