Thanks you Taliskar for the latest growler, which by itself is a work of art replicating a Russian Rivern bottle. Big foamy head on dark grapefruit body. Floral hops, very pleasant aroma. AFter 7 days, we drunk this hardly changed from room temperature and very much liked its smoothness and taste.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2008 re/rate. On tap @ the brewery. Nice hoppiness to it with a good balance of malt. Quite clean and crisp.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours crystal clear medium amber with a thick, slightly moussy whitish head. Humongous resin and pine nose right from the drop. Nice light/medium body with firm carb that’s actually a bit raw. Huge caustic resin and pine notes scour the tongue all the way across, and leave a deep bitter resin cling behind. The raw carb exacerbates the harshness of the chosen hops. Certainly not the bitterest beer I’ve had, but the light body, harsh carb, and single-mindedly resiny/piney notes of the hops make it quite a tour de force. As refreshing as a hard slap in the face from a beautiful woman.

Sampled at Russian River in mid-June 2007. Clear golden, almost light copper with a white head. Sharp, citrusy/centennial hop nose - very nice. Flavor has notes of pale malt, grapefruit, cascade/centennial hops, and a light hint of caramel. Has a proper level of bitterness for an American IPA but not too crazy. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Quite enjoyable.

Draught, Russian River. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately to heavily hoppy (grapefruit, resin). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. I’m not particularly fond of Vinnie’s hop bombs like this and the Plinies, but those who love it west coast styled will undoubtedly find this exciting.

draft @ lucky baldwins IPA fest - right up there as one of my favorite IPAs of the moment. loads of pine and citrusy hops up front...solid malt background but its way way way in the background. super smooth drinking.

Rich yellow, clinging head. The West Coast IPA--low malts, to be sure (I would prefer more) but beautifully executed as an example of the style.

Had a pint of this at the brewpub while I picking up a Growler of Pliny . Aroma of citrus hops and a nice dark golden color and a small pub style head and thin lacing. Mouthfeel was delightful and very crisp and refreshing. Flavor was of various citrus and fruits such as orange and apricot. Good long bitter and dry finish. A very good IPA, ranking up there with the very best. A hophead’s delight.

Draught at the brewery. Beer is hazy, medium oxidized-gold colored with a small-to-average sized, white, frothy-creamy, diminishing clingy head.
The aroma is malty with moderate notes of toasted grain, caramel; Hoppy with heavy notes of resin/pine, apricot, grapefruit oil, moderate orange and lemon zest; Yeasty with a trace of dough; Light miscellaneous note of tropical fruit.
The flavor is moderately-to-heavily sweet, moderate-to-heavily acidic, moderately-to-heavily bitter with a long, moderately bitter, light-to-moderately sweet, trace acidic finish. Grippy, but not hostile.
The body is medium, the texture is watery-to-velvety and the carbonation is lively.

Goldenish coloured with a white head. Grapefruit hops aromas. Dry and bitter with pine and grapefruit hops in the taste. A bit of maltyness in there.
