On draft in beautiful San Diego. Golden-orange pour with a full, white head. beautiful, big hop aroma with citrus and pine in the foretaste. Finishes sweeter than the Russian River IPA. Very good beer!

Bottle from South Bay Drugs and Liquor. Liquid was a pure gold in color and showed equilibrium of sediment while a sticky layer of foam was the head. The aroma is a big and bold serving of hops that smelled fresh and green which was welcomed by my nose. The flavor was heavily hopped that came to me as no surprise but also allowed some room for malt and metallic aftertaste.

16 oz. bottle. Pours clear with a medium orange tint and is crystal clear. Smell is incredibly fresh with bright orange citrus notes and light piney bitterness as well. Taste is very crisp overall, with a hoppy bitterness and grapefruit character. Not overly flavorful and didn’t blow me away exactly, but an extremely solid and well made beer. Tastes extremely similar to Pliny the Elder, to me, but with less malt backing and body, and with equal bitterness and flavors.

I can tell this is going to be good. It looks exactly the way an IPA should. A perfect slightly cloudy blond with a long lasting white head. Aroma is wonderful. Very fruity. Grapefruit mostly, some pine and just a touch of hops. Flavor is more bitter. The hops and pine come through more here. There is some lemon flavor, and the grapefruit is still there too. Very warm aftertaste. Some ginger and nutmeg with fresh hops. Medium bodied, almost full bodied. If I were rating for style, I would say that this is more like an Imperial IPA, but I’m not. I find this to be quite pleasant all around. Not complex, but quite flavorful. Just the way I like it.

500ml, bottled 070908, with thanks to AgentSteve for the hookup! Pours a hazy golden with orange highlights and a two finger white head, good lacing. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, apricot and light floral. Flavor is a bigger hit of hops bitterness for a standard IPA, with more pine, citrus, and some earthy resin; the bitterness lingers quite a while on the palate. A very nice and enjoyable IPA that is not shy about bringing the hops. Thanks again Steve!

Bottle. A very solid single IPA. Pours a clear burnt gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very fresh piney and grapefruit hops, kumquats too. Really good tasting IPA with earthy and grapefruit elements. Light carbonation, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Great litttle bottle of beer.

On tap at RR. Poured amber witha big white head. Aroma of hops, pine and citrus. Taste is of piney resinous hops, with a little citrus and caramel. Quite a bit different from their other IPA/IIPA’s. Finishes bitter. Mouth is a moderately bodied. A nice IPA.

tap at the brewery. Nice gold color. Aroma is all piney hops. Hop is no overpowering and malty undercurrent matches it nicely. This is how a hoppy beer should taste. I could drink this all day.

Tap @ O’Brien’s. Pours clear gold with a nice white head. Floral hop aroma, some pine, and just a little grapefruit. Sharp hop taste up front, resin flavors dominating the citrus, with a caramel back. Overall, a great IPA with strong hop flavors but with a light body.

Poured on tap at Marin Brew Breast Fest a blond-amber with large white head. Huge aroma of floral hops, pine and citrus. Flavor is dry with pine resin, gratefruit, and the lingering bitterness of the floral hop resin. The floral and bitter hops overwhelm most of the malt mouthfeel and have little to no sweetness to balance. This was a good IPA but I’ll stick with the Pliney’s if I have a choice.
