On tap. Pours a hazy gold/copper with moderate head. Aromas of rubber, pine, resin, tropical fruit and sweet malts. Flavors of muted oranges, toast, pine and gritty toasted malts. Nice. Could be a go to beer if available.

RR has the hurdle of living up to the hype every time one of their beers is tried for the first time. Make no mistake, this is a great IPA; however, there are a lot of breweries out there that now make great IPA’s as well, which can tend to diminish what is a good representation of the style, secificaly west coast IPA’s. Nice citrus hoppy nose. Stand caramel color. Bright, crisp palate. Strong bitterness. The thing that stands out is the balance this beer has, which is still tough to do.

On tap at Russian River. Pours golden yellow with white head and lace. Aromas of pine and a lingering grapefruit and citrus. Taste follows the nose and finishes crisp and bitter without being overpowering.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour. Cloudy orange with white head. Some webbing. Dusty aroma. Caramel malt offset earthy hops. Orange and resin. Rustic and inviting. Taste does not disappoint. Hops pack a velvet gloved punch: bitter yet gentle. Wheat and citrus. Good amount of resin. Very drinkable. Enjoyed.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: intense flowers, tropical fruits, light grass. Appearance: clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Taste: light bitter and sweet. Palate: bitters intensify, grass and flowers, but a nice sweetness remains of tropical as well, getting a little dry in the finish. Overall: very nice IPA, great aroma and palate. Pint at Neighbourhood, San Diego.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
a little light in color, but a nice fluffy white head. a wonderful resinous hop aroma, but at first the flavor wasn’t as clean, and bracingly bitter. that, however, did not last long. as the beer opened up, the flavor grew more complex. Fresh piney hop flavor everywhere, with a hint of peppery spice and malty sweetness for balance. the body was a touch thin, but that was more than offset by it’s incredible smoothness and drinkability. deserving of it’s place among the best of the "regulaR" IPAs."
