3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Toronado - San Diego. Golden amber with almost no head, just whisps of off-white. A great straight up west cost IPA. Piney, floral quite bitter with just enough balance. Light to medium body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Stymied as to why this is rated so highly, other than perhaps because itís from RR... Apricot-gold pour, small white head. Flavor and aroma are fresh, grassy, bitter, a bit floral with notes of toasted malt. A bit thin. Decent but nothing amazing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours clear orange, white lacing. Aroma is pine, resin, hops hops hops. Taste is orange-grapefruit, caramel, wonderfully dry but not unbalanced. A straightforward and delicious West coast IPA that Iím very fond of.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampler at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Hazy golden color with white head. Hoppy, not too fruity or resinous, more green. Some grapefruit though. Shallots/garlic, very surprising! Decent bitterness. A very different IPA!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 mL bottle poured into a pint glass. Golden straw colored with a big white head. Hazy, but not sedimenty looking. Traces of head remain with loads of lacing. HOPS. Citrusy hops. Orange and grapefruit hops. No malt smells at all. HOPS. Citrusy hops. Orange and grapefruit hops. No malt taste at all. This is hop juice. The most pared down way of delivering hop flavor. Not even a hint of sweetness to make it easier to drink. As much as I like hop bombs, this isnít balanced at all. Itís bitter, then itís bitter, then itís bitter some more. Because of the low malt character, itís thin. Even for a single IPA, itís very thin. The carbonation feels high, even though I donít think it is very high. Just the nature of ti makes it seem that way. It is what it is. If you want something that delivers as much hop flavor in a low ABV package as possible, this is it.

3 oz chilled pour from tap into cylindrical taster as part of Russian Riverís ďeverything on tapĒ sampled (16 beers this time around) at the brewery itself. I realize that drinking 16 different 3 oz pours is not ideal for proper rating, but when will I ever have an opportunity like this again?
Very flavorful, nice layers of hops. Citrus up front, then nice tropical fruit. Dry, sticky bitterness as well.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Russian River. The pour is a beautiful golden orange color, clear, with a beautiful white dense head and some spectacular lacing. The aroma is great. Heavy hops and tropical fruits with a beautiful resin. The flavor is just as good. The juicy fruity hops explode on the front end and leave an awesome tropical fruit that rolls through the hops. The mouth feel is great. Viscous enough and softly carbonated so it still falls off the tongue, but slowly. The resin and bitterness come through on the aftertaste and carry out the finish with a touch of fruit. Excellent
