Bottle from my friend Jim. Thanks, Jim. Pours yellow orange with a beautiful one finger foamy head. A lot of bubbles coming up through the beer. Lots of retention and lacing. The aroma is incredibly intense. Unbelievable. Makes me wonder what I have been drinking all these years that called itself and IPA. I get some pine (Simcoe?) and citrus on the nose. Slight floral accent is there, too. The wonderful thing about this beer is it does not taste like so many hop bombs I have had lateley. I would describe the bitterness as medium and just toward the low end for the style. Finish is long and smooth. No harshness, just lingering bitterness. A pleasantly light sweetness balances the bitterness perfectly. The texture of the beer is creamy like the head. Medium body and mouthfeel is lightly tingly. Unlike some beers this beer does not improve as it warms. It is best drank in the first 25 minutes. Overall, a terrific beer. I intended to knock this beer down, because I am sick of all the hype surrounding the brewery. I came away from this beer with incredible respect.

Taste: bitter, grapefruit, bit piny, citrus, pineapple, soft malty touch, some caramel. Aftertaste: citrus, little bitter, grapefruit, more bitterness, malty ending with some caramel. Very balanced, nice stuff!

Pours hazy pale amber, fluffy beige head and bright tropical fruits (passion fruit, yuzu) on the nose. Medium body and carbonation, fruity, moderately bitter, plenty of fruityness with an undertone of digestive malt, very easy drinking.

Arômes de pins, de sapin avec une légère base de caramel. En bouche corps moyen qui supporte parfaitement l’amertume et les saveurs bien dosés de houblon sapinés. Excellent

On tap @ Russian River. Pours bright golden copper with thin lacy white head. Aroma is light crisply sweet caramel malt, fresh medium hops with notes of grass, pine, and earth. Taste is similar - crisp light caramel malt and lots of hop flavor. I get notes of grapefruit, pine, and lemon. Super flavorful, and very impressive given the light body and abv. Just like Pliny, this has the flavor that other beers add +1-2% abv trying to accomplish. Really fresh tasting too, not surprising given I’m at the brewpub...

Pours clear gold with fairly active carbonation, white head. Aroma is floral and tropical fruity. Very light body, super crisp and clean. All hops, lots of tropical and floral, pine, and even a little cat pee (simcoe?). Excellent.

Draft at Toronado. A solid IPA of the very bitter vs very flavorful variety. Solid malt backbone, on the lighter side, citrus and pine hops and a long bitter finish. On the dry side. Clean and not a hint of off flavors. Went well with the sausages from Rosamunde.

Another solid IPA from Russian River. Not too intense and not too absent, this is a great go-to brew for nearly any occasion.
