COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale with currants added and aged in oak barrels.

When we made the Toronado’s 20th Anniversary Ale, we had no idea that it would turn out to be one of our favorite barrel aged beers we would ever make. With that said, we have always wanted to make a dark barrel aged beer using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels but, we never were inspired. That is, until we blended five different beers to make the Toronado beer, the tobacco character from the the dark malts blended nicely with the furit character that developed in blending. So, with Concescration we set out to make a barrel beer using all Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. No, we are not saying that this is a replica of the T-rooms anniversary beer, after all, a beer like that can never be duplicated, and, there was no fruit added to that beer as there is with this one. All we are saying is that it gave us great inspiration to brew Consecration.

Pours a clear dark garnet in color with little head. Sour nose with aromas of cherry, oak, and a little funk. Tart bite. Flavors of sour cherry, currants, and hint of oak. Has a good bit of tannins as well. Reminds me of a Cabernet Sauvignon with a slightly sweet and sour mixed. Great balance and complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very boozy sour ale. Sips like a fine wine, very minerally texture. Stinky cheese surprises on the nose.

Amber brown, tan head great carbonation, could smell the complex woody malts from a mile away. Flavor has a complex vinious brown malt with some sour notes. Oak comes through in the multi dimensional A+ brew

Bottle. Amber brown. Sour dark fruit aroma with a bit of an odd skunky note. The taste adds oak and a lot of Cabernet tanin notes. Cherry, raisin, light chocolate after it warmed. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark clear brown with almost no head. Aroma is dark fruit, red wine and musty funk. Taste is a little rubbery up front and adds some lactic notes and wood from the barrel. Medium sticky mouthfeel with no carb. Very tasty.

Bottle from a friend. Smell is sour and has notes of citrus and some fruits. Pours a dark amber colour with a medium beige head. Taste is subtle sour but at the same time fresh and enjoyable. Palate and body is thin though the taste lingers in mouth. An enjoyable beer which, despite its sourness, is very fresh.

Bottle. Pours a deep, deep garnet with a high, fine-grained, just off-white lacy head. That is an amazing nose; as I poured it waves of sour, fruity, woody, aroma came wafting towards me. There’s also notes of red wine and an acetic element. On the tongue, there’s a tart punch right up front, shifting quickly into the roundness of dark fruit, oak, and vinification; while there’s no sweetness, there is definitely a complex and deep element that keeps it from being too thin and emphatic in its sourness. I cannot recall ever having a sour that was this rich. Finish is long, fruity, tannic, and smoky. This might be the best sour I’ve ever had.

Pours I deep redish amber, almost like a watered down cab. Poured into a tulip glass. Slight red hue on head that quickly diminishes. Aroma of sour cherry and dark fruit. Slight sweetness that fades into tart candy in the most pleasant way.
