COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale with currants added and aged in oak barrels.

When we made the Toronado’s 20th Anniversary Ale, we had no idea that it would turn out to be one of our favorite barrel aged beers we would ever make. With that said, we have always wanted to make a dark barrel aged beer using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels but, we never were inspired. That is, until we blended five different beers to make the Toronado beer, the tobacco character from the the dark malts blended nicely with the furit character that developed in blending. So, with Concescration we set out to make a barrel beer using all Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. No, we are not saying that this is a replica of the T-rooms anniversary beer, after all, a beer like that can never be duplicated, and, there was no fruit added to that beer as there is with this one. All we are saying is that it gave us great inspiration to brew Consecration.

Pours dark brown, almost purple with dissipating head. Nose is dark cherries and grapes, little winey. Taste follows nose with cherry, grape, currants, red wine sweetness, moderately sour, a touch of planty bitterness/dryness on the finish. Effervescent carbonation. Don't taste any of that 10%. Stellar sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

American wild ale 10% ABV APPEARANCE: Gorgeous colors in this beer. Deep ruby mahogany, with a burnt orange rim variation. Little to no head with very light lacing. AROMA: Nice and sour fruit right away. The Cabernet barrel explodes with notes of oak, currants, black cherry jam some barnyard funk rounds it out. TASTE: Very tart lots of green apples which I didn't get on the nose. Fades rather quickly into the currant and cherries. Definitely getting that Cabernet flavors and nice oakiness. MOUTHFEEL: Oddly enough without having a head on the beer there is a lot of prickly carbonation. Medium bodied slight oily feel maybe due to the Cabernet barrels. OVERALL: Great, easily approachable sour. Wine drinkers will really appreciate the complex flavor profiles. Thoroughly enjoyed this, I think sharing the bottle was the way to go. The high ABV is hidden well and makes it almost to easy to drink. RATING: 4/5 Zombie Heads! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 First batch bottle pour at bottleworks. The perfect beer. Strange aroma. Sour all around. Long lasting sour finish. There is nothing I can say to describe this beer accurately. The best.

Bottle shared by Chad. Aroma is red wine vinegar, cranberry, and oak. Pours deep burgundy with a nice carbonation but not a very big head. Taste is sour cherry, wine vinaigrette, slight currant, and a big oaky finish. Tart mouthfeel and a perfect oak presence throughout. Loved this one a lot.

22 oz bottle...pretty cloudy..chill haze skunky aroma...but that is where bad ends..the flavor is rich and complex...slight barrel oak..not like a buttery chard from knights vallet but good in that respect..very copmlpx and well balanced. not too much on the carbonation but just right to bring esters...extremely floral but from all the above. great beer

Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a sizzling quickly disappearing fizz. Has the aroma of tart berries and grapes. The flaming is a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick straight to your taste buds. Very tart with notes of berry, grape, cab sauv. Very unique which makes it very nice to me.

OMG, beautiful. Sweet cab like aroma, rich luscious color..no I am not rating a wine. But smell goes on for ever. Reissuing Chardonnay characteristics with a Malbec body...again not rating a wine. But this stuff is amazing. Got from a friend in a bomber bottle fir our bachelorette party and it is sliding the party into oblivion. Great fizzy champagne like carbonation...and we only have two bottles. Let the games begin.

En flaska batch 007 (thanks STLWill). Stickande doft av frukt, kola och körsbär. Suuuur! Precis avslutat en cantillon geuze och det är läsk i jämförelse. Tror det är cuve de Tomme jag närmast tänker på eller så är det någon av flarrorna i Lost Abbey-lådan. Brutal citronsyra. 10% alkohol känner jag inte ett spår av. Fantastisk suring man gärna vill uppleva fler gånger. Delar med Egil och Isabel.

Batch 7, bootle conditioned 1 year. (Toronto) Incredibly hard to come by in Canada. Luckily my sister spent part of her honeymoon in SF. Pouring deep red, no head. Spour cherry with hints of currants and wine. I’ve had this on tap at the Russian River brewpub. Honestly, it’s better in the bottle. It needs time to mature (sour up). Found a 001 batch bottle at the Tornado in SD. So sour and delicioso!

On tap at the Brewpub in February 2014. Hazy mahogany with a minimal head. Wow what a beer! Vinous with red berries, oak, vinegar and lemon. Very sour and with no hints of alcohol. I am so glad that I have at least one bottle of this one at home.
