3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the Tap House in Norfolk. Clear golden pear colored; light layer of foam. Nice perfume of honeysuckle and clover. Yummy melony banana with some lemon at the end. Light carb and medium light body; a little tart. Pretty damn good for a light Belgian and American to boot.

750 ml corked and caged from batch 007. Big props to Oakes for sending this my way. Gorgeous luminescent, completely transparent golden brew. Lasting fine-laced white head. Aroma is initially sweet and spicy, with a very soft yeast, candi sugar, light dustiness, apricots and some soft pear/apple notes. There is also some notable spicy hop aromas in here. Lots of aromas with perfect balance amongst all of them. Flavour is much maltier than is typical of most beers in this style. Loads of honeyish malt sweetness up front before some nice apricot and pear flavours add complexity. Soft and subtle yeasty spice flavour appear before some nice orange citrus peel makes an appearance. Despite all of the sweet deScriptors, the beer finishes dry enough to make you crave another mouthfull immediately. Absolutely gorgeous brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very pale gold with a little orange shine; disparate, very white head. I get some apricot, sugar, straw and faraway plywood. Sweet - but woody, very discreet. Finish is dry woody, like oak that’s nearly completely eaten out; also something distinctly vegetal. Quite sticky MF, well bodied, not really thick and a bit of alcoholwarming. Nice, but compared to the Supplication, extremely discreet, nearly shy. The balance, however, is near perfect.

Nice deep orange color, fizzy white head. Nice, medium intense yeast dough nose. Grows in taste as it warms up, kumquats, grapefruit, koriander and lavender in taste with a nice peppery finish. Well balanced. Thanks a lot Saarlander for this treasure!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a lovely crystal clear golden color with a dusting of bubbly white head. Nose is fruity with subtle yeast undernotes. Hints of pear and faint alcohol. Flavor is clean as a whistle. with a grand fruity tartness and a subtle bitterness. Very crisp and cleansing. If you peeled the label off I’d swear it was one of belgiums finest.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours into the glass a violent bath of foam but forms a clear golden ale with only a thin layer of head. Aroma smells of a fine Belgian yeast lightly touched with fruit and spice. The drink is well carbonated and has a flavor of spice, yeast, pepper, pear and a perfect slicing of banana added. Its such a strong and firm golden ale for how light in appearance its density and color reveal it to be.

On tap at RR brewpub 2/18/06. Poured a clear golden color with a nicely retaining white head. Good sweet aroma with banana and citrus zest. Flavor has a subtle complexity with notes of fruit, spices and a citrus tartness. Light body with a nice dry finish. Another good Belgium ale from Russian River.
