3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Damnation is a simple, yet delicious belgian style golden ale. Some banana flavors mix with citrus, and a fairly robust hop finish. Plus, itís on tap at my local pub for $2 during happy hour. Thatís right, 2 bucks. How you like that?

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big bottle with champagne cork. Clear, deep golden colour with a big head. Yeasty aroma with a solid dose of banana and alcohol. Sweet, warm alcohol, banana flavour, dry, yeasty and bitter finish. Full-bodied, medium carbonation. A nice interpretation of a Belgian Golden Ale (but on the way the banana flavours make you think you have ended up in Bavaria). Still a beer full of character.

Bottle from odeed: My first RR brew, Cloudy golden pour fluffy white head that left some lacing. Aroma was classic belgian, yeasty, spicy, banana... Flavor is similar with a slight carbonation. Nice and smooth, delicious.

Tap at Liarís Club & PP Solana. Hazy golden color, good carb, with small white head that fell quickly to a thin film, light lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast in a tripel style, clovey, creamy light malt, mild hops with banana & toffee aromas. Flavor is as described above with the alcohol well hidden, well into medium bodied. Very nice American offering of this style. Will remember to order this many more times to come with a smile.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Transparent, magnifying and pale brass-to-gold in color with a creamy, sudsy and white head thatís well met with beautiful doily lacing. Charming, spicy aroma consists of bananas, cackled white pepper, lemon rind shavings, anise, cloves, vanilla, whipped lemon meringue butter cream and the slightest note of coriander. Flavor authenticates this Belgian Golden Ale rendition. Peppery banana peel scrapings meet a musky pils malt / farm field characteristic. Pears basking in honey. Quite a spicy testament. Certainty rests on the laurels of coriander and pepper scratches. Touch of dried peaches amidst citric zested lemons. Effervescent, with a dry, clean scrape off of the tongue. Perfect carbonation combination and a down-home malt complex and spicy Euro hops. Peppered sourdough crust brings back the earthy malt derivatives in the finish, along with banana baguettes and barren lemon rinds thrown in for extra special complexity. Thanks for the 750-ml. bottle, tpkenned!

750 ml bottle (batch 007) from fordest. Pours golden clear color with a great thick white head which stay until the end of the tasting... I recognized Belgian style beer here! Aroma is sweet, spicy, yeasty and fruity (pears & apricots). flavors are primary toward malts (honey and biscuit) and then you get some fruitiness and spicyness which add more complexity to this beer. There is nice bitterness felt at the end and with the high carbonation, it brings some dryness commonly found in Belgian beers! I would have thought it was an Unibroue if I would have tasted it blind! In my opinion, this is a Great Belgian style beer! Many thanks to fordest!

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
MN Ratebeer Winter Get Together. My first Russian River rating. Sour, fruity aroma. Hazy, pale yellow like a Belgian white. Nice lace. Very nice, fruity, wheaty, banana, effervescent. At only 7%, this was more like a Belgian White than a Belgian Strong.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Draft. 03/2006) I thought I liked this beer more than I decided I really did. It isnít a bad beer ... its just not ... well ... Belgian (OK. Iím a snob. I admit it. I have high standards). Spicy aromas with some fruitiness ... and hops. The flavor is of the same spiciness, with a fruity nose predominating even as you drink with phenols tending toward peppery (and maybe "meaty" though I was told I was crazy there) ... and hops. Palate wasnít as full as I remembered and it ended up seeming a bit thin. Ultimately, this beer needs much more maturation time. It seemed green and almost harsh at times.

Sampled a pint of Damnation on draft. Golden appearance, malt body and elevated bitterness. Enjoyable Belgian style strong ale that had hoppy ale undertones to it.
