BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 3, 2009 Got this one on a west coast trip to visit the Shank. Pretty good, carbonation is a little heavy/ sharp. Candy sugar back end. Full palate, interesting. Sweet malt very present, but not overdone. Head is a nice cumulous cloud that will end up dissipating, nice lacing. Aged for a year. shawnm213 (882), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2009 draft at toronado. golden. spices, bread, bitter. creamy white head. I still prefer the dark belgian strong ales to the golden ones. not my favorite verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 30, 2009 Draught at Falling Rock. Very cloudy golden with a thin head. Sweet malt, alcohol, banana, and a tangy dry finish. Unique take on the style. MrBunn (1519), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 29, 2009 On tap at Monks Cafe. Body is a light orange with a small head. Aromas of bread and cloves (or some other spice I had a hard time teasing out.) Flavor is honey, oranges and spiciness, but it doesn’t meet the hype that I had built up in my mind for it. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2009 On tap at Firewaters. Aroma of caramel and hops, some vanilla and spices. Appearance has fantastic lacing, creamy white head, gold color. Taste also has some vanilla hints, with decent amounts of hops and citrus. Palate is sticky and a bit dry. Outstanding beer! leeburg (146), Juneau, Alaska, USA Mar 24, 2009 Golden orange with slight red hues, thin white head. Tart, fresh aromas, fruity. A slightly sweet and sour initial flavor followed by a clean and mildly bitter finish. Kind of like a sour ale meets triple meets pale ale. Nicely balanced, enjoyable brew. eyesolus (64), Mill Creek, Washington, USA Mar 23, 2009 Bottle; pours a solid murky deep gold to light amber; white medium head; nice balance between the hop and spices. EGF 1 (#61) MeisterBrew (138), Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bottle. Pours a golden color (floaties) with a nice sized eggshell white head. Great lacing. Aroma is yeasty and fruity. Mouthfeel is creamy. Taste is nice and fruity with a tartness I really like. Nice Ale... reminds me of Duvel.
