Travlr (695), Washington, Washington DC, USA Dec 29, 2008 Clear golden color with medium white head. Yeasty aroma. Citrus lemon taste with tones of grapefruit, bitter finish. Decent body. Interesting. blklab2007 (932), Connecticut, USA Dec 28, 2008 750 corked and caged batch 41 poured into a trappist glass. It has a golden amber color and a foamy white head that fell to a ring. aroma has Belgian yeast, banana, pear, apple, and a little grass. mouth feel is medium and the carbination is high. flavor has more spice on the yeast side, banana, light bitterness, and some citrus from the hops popping in. I like the sturdy carbonation and the finish goes dry with some lingering bitterness and yeast. watson1977 (250), , Pennsylvania, USA Dec 26, 2008 25 0z. bottle of batch 042...looked just like many belgian goldens ive had. had a silky and creamy mouthfeel but the head retention could have been a little better. aroma and flavor reminded me a bit of a saison, particularly because of the crisp dry hoppiness and hint of spiciness. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Dec 26, 2008 Vivid golden pour with a puffy white cloud of a head. Very yeasty and malty odor with a hint of clove and banana. Flavor is heavily pear and banana with a solid yeast and malt feature as well. Solid carbonation. bleeng (587), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Dec 22, 2008 750 bottle batch 16. Pours bright gold with a big, white, fluffy head. Very carbonated with macro type bubbles. Nose is a bit bretty, with spices coming through. Tangy and citrusy flavor with the brett horseblanket taste light on the palate. Girlfriend says it reminds her of a chopinho beer from Brazil. OK. Very easy to drink though a bit thin and the alcohol is completely hidden. I poured the yeast in the glass at the end. It gave it a thicker, richer flavor. Overall a nice Belgian single. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 22, 2008 Blond; eggshell white sticky head. Aroma - indistinct malt, yeast. Standard Belgian blonde flavor profile. Fruity esters. Fluffy feel. Semi-dry finish. In a nutshell, 750 is too much, and in fact this becomes kind of a drag towards the end. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 20, 2008 Clear straw yellow color with no head.
