aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA May 19, 2008 The color was golden yellow with a good amount of sediment. The head was creamy, thick, and white. The aroma was alchol, yeast, and earthy. The flavor was strong belgian yeast, earthy, alcohol, and grass. The palate was well carbonated. The finish was warm. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA May 11, 2008 Batch 29: This poured golden in color with a thick white head of medium-sized bubbles. The nose shows off yeast and spice along with lemon, clementine oranges, plum/currant and bubblegum. In the mouth it is medium-bodied and concentrated with lots of carbonation that keeps it fresh. The finish is dry with a bitter edge from the hops. This is drinking very young and fresh and should drink well for many years to come. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA May 5, 2008 Probably the thing I was most surprised with about Russian River was their attempts at Belgian ales. This one was almost perfect. Bubblegummy and syrupy sweet with a perfectly balanced blend of carbonation, yeast, and malt backbone. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA May 4, 2008 Bottle, batch 004. Pours golden with a tall white head that leaves good lacing. Fruity aroma with hints of citrus. Nice blend of hops and malts in the flavor with a touch of spices. Medium body. Dry. Starts sweet but ends bitter. (Rating from June ’07) Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Apr 28, 2008 Draught at Stone World Bistro. Saffron yellow/orange color, bright, friendly, welcoming appearance. Nose also beckons with dry fruity Chardonnay-like vinous whispers and melon rind. Flavors are round and complete yet edgy. Lothore (276), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a very clear, deep, orange, with a large uniform head. There was quite a bit of carbonation apparent.
S- Smells sweet, citrusey, and distinctive of mixed fruits.
T- Taste spicy with a full bready body leading to darker fruit tones and a bit of hop bitterness.
M- Very carbonated, medium viscosity.
D- Fairly drinkable brew that tastes quite a bit better when it warms up. I made the mistake of starting off with it fairly cold and was disappointed but as it warmed I liked it more and more.
