COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

An amazing golden ale. Great yeasty aroma. Flavor is awesome - very gentle fruity sweetness with a light hoppy backbone. I could drink this all day

Belgian strong pale ale 7.75 ABV APPEARANCE: Poured a hazy golden straw color. Huge billowy head, with lots of lacing coating the glass. AROMA: Very strong aromas of Belgian yeast. Grassy, bready and malty. Cloves and pepper in the mix, overripe bananas and pears rounded it out. TASTE: Fruit and malts up front reminiscent of warm banana bread with fresh ground pepper. Light spiciness and alcohol come through on the aftertaste. MOUTHFEEL: Very lively beer, medium plus body with high prickly carbonation. Great wet finish that quenches your thirst. OVERALL: I'm usually not much of a Belgian drinker but this is a solid outing from Russian River. Flavors are unique and enjoyable. This would be so good with some pungent cheese and cured meats. RATING: 4/5 Zombie Heads! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Definitely a Belgian. Very dry and clean. Has a bit of the Belgian yeasty was but different than most. Not very sweet.

Had on tap at Public House, Temecula. $8.25 for the full pint. Pours an effervescent straw gold with which a sudsy, off-white head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of cauliflower, coriander, spearmint, green grapes, cotton, and cedar bark. Tastes the same with the addition of mouthwash, pinecones, juniper berries, and American & Belgian yeasts. Another medicinally bittersweet beer. Medium bodied; could drink a lot of these without even realizing it.

Draught @ Monks: Mistake pour: ordered a Pliney the Elder and they mistakenly brought this. It was a good mistake. This one pours a fairly clear, golden color. There was some white head and some lacing. Good hop nose. Mainly pine and grapefruit. Some other lighter fruits and spices also. The taste is also good. It has a slightly lighter body than expected. A little bitter, somewhat dry finish. Malts, spices. Nice.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is a mild Belgian yeast with a hint of clove and slice. Flavor is similar with a bit more Belgian character. Tasty, but not my flavor.
