Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Courtesy of moejuck, thanks! Batch 011, 750ml bottle. Golden orange/yellow body. Topped by a very sudsy, extremely long lasting snow white head. Excellent lacing when it finally does recede. Nose is very fruity, bananas, oranges and the like, funky yeast, Brettanomyces and candied sugars. Maybe some hops there, but if so they are outdone and hidden by the other wonderful aromas. First sip reminds me of a Saison, funky Brett and yeast, along with bananas and apples. Only really missing a noticeable spice. Continuing on, floral hops present themselves in the background, just loud enough to be heard. Also do finally get some spice, along with aggressive yeasty notes at the back end of the beer. Medium carbonation, coats the tongue and mouth. Finish is funky, fruity, full of yeast and sugars. Very nice beer, I need more Russian River!

muted brett aroma, grains of paradise, pretty good. really mild flavor, understated, you don’t even know. not much to say. rerate: draft at monk’s in philly. wow, i’m surprised i’ve never had this before. pours golden orange with nice lacing. clear. smells a bit of change. lightly of yeasty bready toffee. tastes really really good. very honeyish without being saccharine or heavy. definitely some classic duvel/RR funk on the front side. this is way better than duvel though. tastes great.

750 ml bottle, Batch 021, courtesy of a tarde with dirty-martini. Pours a clear gold with a large, fluffy white head that is continuously fed by many small carbonation bubbles. Laces the glass very nicely. Pleasant aroma of sugar, lemons, and some floral hops. The flavor follows the aroma with some light sugar sweetness, a bit of lemon, and some herbal/floral notes from the hops. Lively on the tongue from the carbonation, with some very light bitterness at the finish. This beer goes down way too easily for a 7% abv beer! Good stuff.

Bottled sample via oakbluff. Gold in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of spicy citrus fruit, herbal hops, black pepper, and alcohol. Flavors are of light maltsm more pepper, and some green-herbal hops. Spritzy in the mouth with some alcohol heat. Very tripel-like. Nice.

mesa gathering. thanks to hopheadinaz...batch 10. cloudy yellow/orange with a monsterly aggressive head (it really wanted out) very faint aroma (even when warm) of brown sugar, citrus and an alcohol burn/spiciness?. flavor is a bit yeasty with orange, lemon tartness, green apple and some earthy funk. finishes crisp and dry with lingering spice. medium bodied with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. reminds me of a crisp light oaked chardonnay...

GABF 2006-Chardonnay oak aroma with residual sweetness. Taste is akin to white wine. The rest of the notes are too hard to read.

RE-RATE Hazy gold color. Aroma is spicy with apples, pears, and spice. Light brett. Taste is pepper, spicy, brett, honey. Nice mouthfeel.

Very good ale with good aroma and color. Flavor was good with some fruit and earthy flavors. Alcohol taste not overwhelming.
