Pours a slightly hazy golden color with big white sudsy head that recedes moderately.Aroma is citrus, floral notes, thyme and yeasts. Flavor is subtle and complex with grapefruit, peanuts, honey, biscuit, oranges, bananas and walnuts. Biter hops are brief towards the finish. Mouthfeel is silky, smooth, and full with a slight astringency, there is also a good prickly carbonation. Finish is medium in duration, dry and clean. Overall this is a magnificent Belgian, I was really impressed by the clean dry palate. Will seek out again. Guerde (699), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2007 (bottle, thanks Badgerben) Pours a cloudy golden with no head even with agitation. As olso2116 says this beer tasted and smelled more like a flemish sour. Aroma was mainly tart apple and cherry. The flavor was much the same with tart apple and cherry, but was not very robust. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2007 [Bottle, thanks Badgerben] Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite sour and nothing like other belgian ales I have tried. The taste is more like a subdued flemish sour than a belgian ale, but not bad. Pretty smooth. Nice, but I honestly did not know this was a belgian ale while I was drinking it...weird. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
