Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

On tap at The Alembic in San Francisco. Slightly hazy golden yellow, moderate puffy white head. Soft banana and vanilla aroma. Same flavours, along with some ginger spiceiness, a little yeasty. Very nice.

Bottle courtesy of alexanderj, shared with kleyland. Pours a bright gold with a thin, white head. Hint of bananas and clover. Sweet flavor with a pear-like mouthfeel to finish. Not a fan of this particular style, but this one was exceptionally great.

Poured gold with off white head. Aroma of hops, fruit, and spice. Pretty complex. Flavors of citrus and spice come through big with a bit of dry finish. Very complex and smoothe.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear light golden amber with an intense white head. Excellent lacing. Peppery floral nose. Medium body with an initial spiciness that gives way to a complex dry, semi-tart lingering finish.

Thanks to Beer Hawk for this beer. A clar golden pour with a white foamy head but not out of character for the style. A corriander flavor bit of a dry lasting bitter flavor. Carbonation is good. The flavor is dry but very good. A beer I enjoyed very much. thanks steve
