505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA Nov 5, 2006 Nice aroma, sweet, lots of fruits, some grapes, pears, and apples. Taste is slightly sweet, fruity, yeasty, mild alcohol, and very belgian. Pretty good stuff. NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Nov 3, 2006 Bottle. Split with Tronraner, Muenster in an interesting array of tastings. The pour is quite light yellow with very virorous carbonation and a tall white head. Lacing is firm around the glass. The aroma is just barely tart and has notes of banana, leaves, birch, and light bubblegum. The flavor is exceptionally balanced and the mouthfeel is harshly bubbly. Usually I prefer lightly carbonated, heavy beers. However, I think the sptriziness worked exceptionally well with the drier and more acidic notes in this beer. It gave the compartively light body some assertiveness and actually a certain degree of refreshment. A sweet banana taste comprises the foundation of the flavor with hints of mild spices and birch in the background. I enjoyed the first, more chilled small glass more than my later warmer one. muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA Nov 3, 2006 Ok, following two Michelob products, this feels like heaven. Bottle, split with NachlamSie and Tronraner. Pours a pale straw/blond color with some floaties, and a fluffy white head. Excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet malts, with lots of ripe fruit, a hint of a sourness, and a mild spiciness. The flavor is much like the aroma leads on. Very nice juicy fruit, especially pear, sweet malt, and an earthy, yet spicy finish. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 2, 2006 0.75L bottle. Clear golden color with thin white head. I’m having a tough time getting an aroma. A really faint sweet and tartness is I’ll I can get before I start sucking beer down my nose. Nice light initially fruity flavor. Also some honey and lime. Pleasant mix of flavors makes this very drinkable and enjoyable to the last ounce is consumed. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Nov 2, 2006 Tap, O’Brien’s. Pours a fairly clear medium golden color. Slightly sweet creamy yeast aroma. Some graininess as well. Light grainy flavors. Some yeast and creaminess. Somewhat bitter finish of grain and hops. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Nov 1, 2006 750ML bottle via Vinnie at Russian River(thanks!). Pours a semi hazy golden blonde with a large chunk white head. Nose is fruity/spicey with notes of bananna, pear, peaches, strawberries, and wheat. Flavor is the same with a sourish bitter dry chalky finish. A bit too much hoppiness for the style...Medium body. An ok beer, but i was expecting much better from RR.... Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 31, 2006 Bottled. Golden color, creamy and muddy. Fruity, spicy and slightly tart flavor with notes of banana and clove. Fruity-herbal and tart flavor with some spicy-herbal hops, some maltiness and graininess. Excellent balance, very tasty. hiphops (280), caldwell, New Jersey, USA Oct 30, 2006 pale yellow fizzy. smells like grass and spice. taste like hay and spice and pines with a touch of acidity and a bit creamy and sweet in the finish but too grassy overall
