Cloudy yellow, fruity in aroma, this Belgian Golden is so flavorful with fruit and spice and has a nice yeast flavor along with some biscuit malt. This like all RR offerings not only compare, but out-do most of their Belgian counterparts. A wonderful beer. Skeegle (485), Maryland, USA

Warm soft palate that’s great and feels fluffy on the swallow, but the flavors are all ordinary banana, clove, corriander, etc. It’s well done and a nice beer, but I’ve had this beer a hundred times from other brewers, and at $9 a bottle it’s just a tad underwhelming. hallinghansen (265), Odense SV, Denmark

Pours a semi-clear golden orange brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of Belgian yeast, bread dough some candi sugar and a hint of honey. Taste is fruity, lightly carbonated, medium bodied, with flavors of golden grain malt, yeast, some candi sugar mild spice and vanilla. Finish is semi-dry with a lingering yeast and candi sugar aftertaste. Allstar (30), , Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle batch 41 from 08 sometime? enjoyed 7.15.09. Pours a clear glowing orange golden with a lovely dense creamy fine frothy white head. Quite similar to the Alesmith Horny Devil I had last night. Aroma shows some oxidation, some light citrus, candi sugar, some fruity, Belgian yeast, doughy. Flavor follows, like an abbey triple, doughy, yeasty, very distant fruitiness, a bit of banana, alcohol, vanilla, candi sweetness at first but finishes quite dry, slightly earthy, hops in the finish and aftertaste, with a little alcohol bite. Medium/full bodied with a much lighter mouth-feel, strong carbonation, fizzy with a softer bite, ubiquitous, dry and crisp feeling. This is a better crafted beer than the Alesmith but I think I would rather drink the Alesmith.
