COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Bottle from a trade here on RB. Fruit flavors really meld well with the Beligan yeast.

From NOTES: A: Earthy hops and yeasty malt dominate with faint fruit notes, possibly slight lemon citrus. A: Pours a pale straw color, short white head, some retention and some lacing. T: An initial malty goodness, reminiscent of a sweet bread, with a bit of a spicy lighter fruit following and then a finish that is just ever so slightly soured. M: Medium body with above average carbonation. O: Delicate and complex, balanced and inviting. This is my favorite RR beer.

An aroma of spice and sweet, overripe bananas drifts softly from the neck, tantalizing but gentle. The bottle tips. The golden liquid flows smoothly into the glass, falling gently into a burgeoning foam, marshmallow-white and as tight and creamy as I’ve ever experienced. The soft, dense head is creamy velvet on my lips and as I pull my first taste over the rim, the gentle carbonation dances over my tongue. The muffled spice of the yeast and the undertones of mildly sweet malt are layered over the hops without smothering their presence. -- The aroma blossoms as the brew warms, accentuating the depth of the flavor. The finish is delightful, everything about the beer itself is only fading with time, not morphing or being convoluted at all, just a gradual lessening of the gustative opacity. I thought I needed something shocking tonight, something that would be a touch overkill. Apparent Russian River thought it best not to deliver that. They were right. This was a perfect remedy to my mood...a gentle nudge out of a shitty day.

Mild sour smell. Saison and golden ale notes in the taste. Pretty dry. Medium body, high carbonation, and super foamy.

Bottle pour at home, picked this up last year at the Brewery. Golden pour, sweet aroma, and taste awesome blond however, this one is definitely better fresh, this is one of the first Russian River beers I can remember having

Banana floral and spicy. All this in the wonderful aroma. Pretty carbonated. Flavor of nice golden Belgian ale favors. Phenols and spice, some light grass. Great beer.

This was a very tasty and enjoyable beer. Had a nice sweetness. Looked great in the glass. Strong head and lacing with a pleasant aroma. Belgian blonde that you could tell had fruitiness. Tastes bananas more than pears. Smooth drink. Would definitely revisit any time the opportunity arose.

375ml corked bottle. Belgian yeast aroma with notes of citrus, clove and wheat. Pours cloudy golden colored with a thin white head with poor retention and lacing. Starts with wheat and banana flavors with a pinch of citrus. Finishes smooth with Belgian yeast spiciness with clove, coriander and black pepper notes. Nice beer.

Pours a slight cloudy yellow color with a banana aroma. Taste is floral with a fruit flavor. Minor spice in the beer, with a dry finish.
