Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Hazy, straw yellow color with a medium soapy white head. Light banana, lemon, yeasty aroma with a bit of a tartness as well. Very banana-bready flavors with a touch of freshly ground nutmeg. Sugary yeasty sweetness coats the tongue in a gently lingering finish. Pleasing overall, but the level of complexitiy leaves a bit to be desired.

Rich and sweet with loads of flavors in here as well. Dark with pleasant malty sweetness, showing some candi sugar, not cloying in the least. A supremely tasty beer.

750ml - thanks Irishboy - Aroma is yeasty bubblegum and banana. Some earthy hop funkiness as well. Pours transparent gold with cascading bubbles and a huge head, great sticky lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a bit more grassy hoppiness. Palate is creamy, clean, and dry. I was initially not too impressed, but as I kept drinking it, the complexity and depth began to show changing my aroma and flavor scores. A nice brew.

Thx MWSF! This is a well made Belgium Ale, not exceptional but well worth having. Classic in appearance, golden in color, moderately hazy with moderate white head. Aroma is very yeast and sweet (as some have noted like golden delicous apples and maybe some banannas). Flavor is pretty tart up front and sweeten as it crosses the palate.

Really put off by a very sloppy pour at Philadelphia beer week. My glass had so much clumpy dead yeast floating in the bottom of the glass that it looked like curdled cream, or worse, like the brewer had been sick into my bottle. Altered my perceptions, no doubt. Seemed like a dry slightly hoppy Belgian strong. Would be willing to try it again, from a different bottle.

Bottle as a killer extra thanks to dchmela. Thanks, Dave! Pours bright hazy dark golden with an orange tint. Lovely summer fruits and some apricot, apple. Funky wild yeast. Some banana and pineapple as well. Nice dry palate. Really lovely. Would love to drink this all summer long.
