COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Serving: from tap at Brouwer’s Cafe and from bottle--purchased at The Beer Junction. Aroma: citrus. Appearance: average-sized, frothy, white, initial head with good lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Cloudy, dark-yellow/light-amber body. Taste: lightly grapefruity, sour, initial flavor, lightly acidic, leathery finish and long duration. Palate: medium body, dry texture, lively-to-fizzy carbonation and metallic finish feel. Overall: another excellent beer from Russian River.

Pours a clear straw with huge, persisting frothy head. Spicey nose with cloves and citrus aromas. Lost of cereals. Taste is slightly sweet in the beginning with a crisp dry finish. Banana and spicey flavors. Some floral hops. Wonderful golden ale! Perfectly balanced!

I'm not sure why folks don't like this one? But it's pretty much everywhere down here in San Diego.

My first taste of the legendary Russian River. 375 ml bottle from C-mini mart in Dublin, CA. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is a little fruity, pear / apple. Taste is also pear / apple with a little peppery spice in the finish, faint booze. A solid belgian strong but not quite as awesome as I was expecting.

Rating from notes. Batch 67 .375L pours ginger-ale golden-orange with an aroma of cloves and hay and a thin mottled head of medium bubbles. The taste is lightly bubble gum and cloves and hay. Smooth and crisp with a lightly sticky bitter finish.

Cloudy, light golden pour with a light head. Kind of winey aroma, not at all unpleasant. Tastes like flowers and grape, a bit of familiar Belgian spice. Nice long, dry finish with a peculiar and interesting balance. Very, very good. Would I drink again? yes. Would I order again? yes please!

Pours golden (as the style would suggest) with a fluffy, foamy white head that sits atop for quite some time. Aroma is earthy, with hints of hay in a barn. Taste is initially coriander, some lemon then sweet malts, almost Pilnser-ish, with a slightly warming and spicy finish.

Flaska från BottleRock LA. Ljust gul med vitt skum. Endast doft av jäst. Syrlig med smak lite humle och jäst.
