4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Serving: from tap at Brouwer’s Cafe and from bottle--purchased at The Beer Junction.
Appearance: average-sized, frothy, white, initial head with good lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Cloudy, dark-yellow/light-amber body.
Taste: lightly grapefruity, sour, initial flavor, lightly acidic, leathery finish and long duration.
Palate: medium body, dry texture, lively-to-fizzy carbonation and metallic finish feel.
Overall: another excellent beer from Russian River.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Wow! This has gone from terrible to terribly amazing. Love this new batch -- sparkling golden, citric twang, bright, bits of tobacco, aggressive and full bodied -- round and lightly creamy, slightly slick.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Sept. 8, 2014. Bottle from SF purchased two years ago. Golden yellow colour with big white head. Strong white wine aroma, smelled it across the way while it was being poured. Sweet grape and peach flavours. Extremely smooth mouthfeel, quite lovely.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"this one’s a strong golden ale, not a dubble. it’s more assertive than other RR belgians, and has a fuller feel. Spicy, yeasty, a little fruit, and warming. Not bad, but pales in comparison to RR’s special brews."

A very nice expression of the style, hops and Belgian yeast balance nicely, but not overly interesting

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Monk’s (Phila, PA). Pours hazy yellow/gold with tall head. Aroma is floral and fruity...didn’t make out pear but banana was there. Taste is tart, dry and smooth. Belgian spiciness with some mellow malt and fresh, pine-y hops.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet malty nose with some hop background. Golden color and a malty flavor. Hops hit at the end to clean the palate. Sesionnable if you can handle the alcohol.
