Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

An enjoyable beer. Pours a nice cloudy yellow, with a much smaller head than I expected. Aroma is faintly fruity, with slight pear overtones. Flavor is much more mild than I was anticipating. The entire profile of the beer is understated, including the fruit aspects. Very balanced finish, with a bit of hop to it. Very nice.

Bottle. Batch 045. Pours a golden sunshine yellow color, with a soft foamy head. Flavor is juicy fruit - banana and pear, initially soft and then a bit tart. Not as bready as most Belgians. Finish is dry and a bit astringent, somewhat citrus like hops. Medium bodied, very fizzy carbonation. This is a damn fine beer.

Poured a hazy golden color with a thin white head and not much lacing on the glass. Strong banana, light citrus and yeast as well in the aroma. Bready taste, some citrus, very dry and yeasty finish.

Pours cloudy gold/yellow, with a white head. Aromas are yeast, bananas, spice and fruit. Flavor starts sweet, and moves towards sour. Fruit, yeast, bananas, and some hops are all there. A nice one, a little different than some others of this style. Thanks to DarkElf for this bottle.

Matt (drbayern) pops my cherry with this brewery by sending me a bottle of this. Golden colored pour, looks very similar to duvel. Smell is lemons, spices, yeast, citrus, and some hops. Taste is rich and flavorfull, full of coriander and fruits. Pretty damn good actaully, the first american brewer to get the beligan style beers right since allagash got it going several years ago. nice beer, too bad its not around these parts.
