Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

(06.27.06) One pint, 9.4 oz brown bottle from Liquorama.com. 7% ABV. Batch 007. Poured hazy golden yellow with large white head. Good carbonation. Light-to-medium bodied Belgium-style golden ale that starts with light malt sweetness and fruity (apple)/ citrus (orange peel)/spicy (coriander) flavors. Some medicinal phenols detected. Finished dry with light hop bitterness. A very good tasty ale.

On tap at Pizza Port (Solona). At first glance I don’t know what to expect - looks like a lager - yellow with a good size fizzy head. One sniff and you know it’s no lager. Aroma that reminds me of green apple Bubb’s Daddy bubblegum from when I was a kid. Much more yeast in the taste along with green grapes, apple, and other light fruits. Really nice.

6/6/6 Day -- Cloudy pale golden body with a large white head. Great aroma, nice banana accents from the yeast as well as other light fruits. Nice body, heavy on the carbonation. Malts are present with nice woody tones. Dry ending, that’s lightly spiced.

Got this beer from a bottle at Stone. Pours a hazy gold. Nice fruity aroma, yeasty as well with a little bit of spice. Smooth and well balanced. I was a fan.

Bottle courtesy of irishboy!!! Pours a hazy golden color, with a medium pillowy off white head. Aroma is yeast, citrus, straw, slight banana. Flavor is pale malts, yeast, fruit, pepper. Palate is medium bodied, highly crabonated, smooth, bitter finish. Nice one for sure.

tap at Zeitgeist. Pours with a fairly light color and a decent head. Aromas of fruit, bread and yeast. Very pleasant and strong. Flavor of a typical Belgina ale, again full of fruit and doughiness. Medium bodied with a pleasant bitter finish.

3/30/08: Batch 10 bottle from drewbeerme. Thanks Pours almost lemon yellow with a sizeable head and excellent lacing and retention. Yeast is prevalent in the aroma, along with a hint of butterscotch. Taste is yeast, spice, caramel, bubblegum. No bitterness, but still a nicely balanced beer. 6/5/7/4/14/3.6

Rerate: 6/25/08. Bottle shared by Alraomon. Gold color with big head and perfect lacing. Yeasty, funky and slightly fruity aroma. Taste of caramel and stone fruits. Medium body. 7/4/8/4/15/3.8

A very white head about two finger widths tall. Reducing down to a slight film. Good lacing, smell mostly of banana and pear with a small hops element that is very unique. The taste is slightly citrus but mainly astringent and esthery also a little of bananas and pears again. Very good and enjoyable.
