In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Bomber, shared. Pours a sparkling golden color with a lacy white head. Aroma is largely Belgian yeast, with clove, banana, and a bit of citrus thrown in for good measure. Taste is a sweet yeast characteristic, with a bit of a clove and citrus flavor at the end. Beer is sublimely smooth throughout. It’s not at the same level as the otherworldly stuff they’ve also done, but it’s a very solid Belgian ale.

20.08.2016, 0,375l bottle (2016 vintage) @ Crowbar:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, dried fruits, yeast, flowers, hay, minerals, grass, light malts. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, flowers, hay, yeast, bark, minerals, wet grass, paper, hints of medicine. Medium bitterness, slightly dry floral mouthfeel. Fair enough, not really my cup of tea.

From a bottle. Pours out an opaque gold and makes a thick white, Belgian head. Aroma is of biscuit, citrus. Tastes citrusy, tangy, and simply fantastic. A beautiful interpretation of the style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: banana with some additional fruitiness; Appearance: cloudy, orange pour with fluffy white head that dissipates slowly; Taste: follows nose but not too sweet; nicely balanced bitterness; Palate: medium body with long, bitter-banana finish; Overall: quite good, but not my favorite interpretation of the style.

375 ml bottle, bottled 09/01/15.
Dark golden, clear body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, slightly yellowish head.
Aroma of yeast, dough, sweet bread, ripe sweet fruits, berries, candy, some spices.
Taste follows this, with additional honey notes.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes yeasty, sweet, a bit dry, a bit spicy, fruity.

Very nice. Yeasty and quite sweet, but really well balanced, very smooth to drink. Not among my favourite style examples, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Perfect clear, bright golden color. Massive white head, not very frothy, rather containing big bubbles. Aroma rather typical for belgian golden ale. Sweet, malty, fruity. Peach on the first plan. Taste is super classic, super stylish, but have to admit that style is not my favourite, not the most interesting one. Typical malty and fruity notes with delicate bitterness in the back end. Perfectly well covered alcohol, not even touch of it in the taste. Can feel it in the stomach though. Perfect low carbonation, very smooth and delicate in the mouth. Great quality beer.
