In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Aroma: easters, banana, pears and spice. Pours clear golden with full fluffy white head, with nice champagne bubbles. Flavor: begins sweet and smooth pear, banana finish is dry and surprisingly hoppy. Medium to light body. Drinkability: medium to high. Very nice golden ale, easy to drink and would be nice during the hot summer months.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits - Castro, San Francisco - CA. Color: clear blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: domination banana gloves. Notes of wheat malt and some citrus. Taste: nice taste of banana and cloves, wheat taste and yeast notes. It’s not so familiar as a belgium strong ale, it’s look like a mix of belgium ale and german here-weiss. Aftertaste: wheat malt and citrus finish.

Embouteillée le 06/27/2014. Impeccable présentation. Note parfaite. J’aime.

Pours a clear golden orange yellow with a slight white head. Aromas of light pear and wet rocks/ soil. Taste was dry and earthy. Medium body and medium carb. Really not that enjoyable to me but definitely not my favorite style.

Noble earth hop aroma with sweet malts. Nice golden Belgian with pear and banana flavor. Great lively carbonation. Excellent example. Glad to have things like this stateside.

Pours a clear straw with huge, persisting frothy head. Spicey nose with cloves and citrus aromas. Lost of cereals. Taste is slightly sweet in the beginning with a crisp dry finish. Banana and spicey flavors. Some floral hops. Wonderful golden ale! Perfectly balanced!
