3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The pour was a medium gold in color with an average sized (1-2 finger) white frothy head that was mostly lasting, eventually reducing to a thick foamy cap which produced some really nice sheets of lacing.
The aroma was of a grain malt, citrus hops and a strong moldy yeast with notes of banana, green apple, pears and a mild peppery spice.
The taste was good and malty with a nice strong note of citrus in the beginning and then became very yeasty and mildly bitter with notes of green apple, pears and had a bit of spiciness towards the end. The flavor stayed with you for a really good long time with a spicy yeast finish that was left laying on the taste buds well after all other flavors faded.
Mouthfeel was medium in body and dry in texture with a good strong prickly carbonation.
Overall an exquisite Belgian Ale with a complexity of flavors blending together extremely well, forming a fantastic tasting brew...

Very nice Belgian beer, my first beer from Russian River. Very impressed, nice fruity notes and yeast flavored from the yeast. A few good beer! I want more beer from this brewery!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours golden (as the style would suggest) with a fluffy, foamy white head that sits atop for quite some time. Aroma is earthy, with hints of hay in a barn. Taste is initially coriander, some lemon then sweet malts, almost Pilnser-ish, with a slightly warming and spicy finish.

Sept. 8, 2014. Bottle from SF purchased two years ago. Golden yellow colour with big white head. Strong white wine aroma, smelled it across the way while it was being poured. Sweet grape and peach flavours. Extremely smooth mouthfeel, quite lovely.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"this one’s a strong golden ale, not a dubble. it’s more assertive than other RR belgians, and has a fuller feel. Spicy, yeasty, a little fruit, and warming. Not bad, but pales in comparison to RR’s special brews."
