COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Bottle. The pour was a medium gold in color with an average sized (1-2 finger) white frothy head that was mostly lasting, eventually reducing to a thick foamy cap which produced some really nice sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a grain malt, citrus hops and a strong moldy yeast with notes of banana, green apple, pears and a mild peppery spice. The taste was good and malty with a nice strong note of citrus in the beginning and then became very yeasty and mildly bitter with notes of green apple, pears and had a bit of spiciness towards the end. The flavor stayed with you for a really good long time with a spicy yeast finish that was left laying on the taste buds well after all other flavors faded. Mouthfeel was medium in body and dry in texture with a good strong prickly carbonation. Overall an exquisite Belgian Ale with a complexity of flavors blending together extremely well, forming a fantastic tasting brew...

Started out nice with characteristic Belgian fruit and spice, but increased in sourness as it warmed up... Sour was all I could resolve in the finish. Pretty disappointed with this beer.

Lovely light blonde color, lot more spices than Redemption, , more spices, good beer, could really use more kick. These Russian River beers are really hype imo, taste for yourself and you will agree the ratings are just too high for these beers, they aren’t as good as the hype makes them out to be.

Growler. Aroma is malt and some skunky hops. Appearance is a hazy gold with a nice white head. Taste starts malt with hops through out. Palate slightly hoppy bitter with some malt. Overall, a very complex and good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden pour w/ a white head. Interesting aroma full of spice & a bold sourness. The flavor is quite complex but a little thin. It makes this beer dangerously drinkable tho. It’s a solid brew!

Short Review: Disappointing, sour and not much flavour, not bad but was expecting a lot more. May have gotten a bottle?!?

Amazing! It’s reminiscent of a saison for sure... But it still has some of the nice Belgian "golden ale" style. Aroma is wet hay, fruity, barn yard esters, yeast, with a slight banana undertone. It also gets more boozy aromas as it warms. Taste is just yum: sweet fruit, banana, yeast with a faint tart that’s hidden. Finish is simple yet really awesome: dry, sweet, and pleasant. ....french toast BLTs... seriously, try one!

Golden color with white head. Aroma of spice, hay, lemon and yeast. Taste of lemon, hay, coriander, spices and peach. Very good and very belgian.

Cloudy gold with almost no head. Doesn't smell good nor does it taste good. Slightly sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

translucent gold with lively effervescence and a big foamy white head. soft body with a bit of creaminess and medium-high carbonation.

aroma: bright stoney minerality, citrus flower hops, herbal hop bitterness, sweet pale malt.

taste: sweet pale malt, citrus flower hops, mild hop bitterness, and a lot of wild yeast character (snow boots).

malt and hop character are great, color and texture are perfect, but the yeast character ruins it.
