In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

Aroma of yeast and cobwebs as the cork is removed, giving way to pear as it pours, with huge banana coming out as it warms. Appears a clear golden-yellow with noticeable effervescence, and with a huge frothy white head that reduces but does not dissipate. Flavor is supremely balanced, with sweet honey as it strikes the tongue, soft bitter hops in the middle, and a clove and peppery spice at the finish. Palate is dry but not too dry, and very refreshing. Overall, an excellent brew and one which I am very happy to have tasted.

Bottle to a tulip. Thanksgiving 2015. Pours hazy yellow gold with foamy white head and lacing. Notes of toasted malt, fruity esters, Belgian yeast... A beautifully balanced beer which paired perfectly with our Thanksgiving feast... Yum!!!

Pours a hazy golden yellow on tap with fluffy white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma and taste are big on the Belgian esters, clean and nice with the booze well hidden. Dry finish, good carbonation, booze well hidden, solid interpretation.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Jon! Pours a lightly hazy yellow with a one-finger head of foam that lingers throughout. Banana cream pie nose with some light pear and green apple aromas with some light grass. Malt-forward on the palate with some nice Belgian yeast action morphing throughout. Easy drinking and hides the ABV very well. Siky, creamy finish.

Poured into a wine glass showing neon yellow with a finger of clean white foam and moderate filtration. The nose shows a rich creaminess. The palate is moderately carbonated and full bodied. A light residual sugar sweetness throws throughout matching with the creamy aroma. Belgian yeast notes throughout. Perfect sweetness and can see how this works really well.

Lots of bananna, fruity yeast esters, and a crisp bread/biscuit like character in the aroma. Bananna, clove, yeasty flavors and that same dry biscuit malty flavor. The finish is very dry that leaves a tad bit of lingering sweetness
