3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a rich, bronze-ish caramel color, transparent, with an amazing head of fizzy white foam. One of the most impressive heads Iíve ever seen, this one formed a huge dome puffing out the top of my glass, lasting an incredibly long time thanks to the steady stream of carbonation flowing up from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of graham cracker malts and lightly sweet caramel, balanced by some herbal, earthy, lotus leaf hops. Light bodied with a shimmering carbonation to caress the tongue. Chewy malt flavors of graham cracker and some mild cinnimon spice. The hops are quite earthy, but in a delectable way; very aptly named. Dry, herbal, tea-like hop cleansing in the final smack.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
growler pours a beautiful deep amber with a nice white head that retains really well and leaves good lace. very nice nose combines a deeply toasty nose, with light cocoa notes, overlayed with floral hoppines. well-balanced flavor balances complex malt notes with solid bitterness and nice hop flavors. very nice American interpretation of an "ESB".

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Not sure what to expect before I had this but what turned out to be curiosity quickly turned to delight. An easy drinking English Pale, which a decent helping of hops balanced nicely by the sweet malt. Aroma was bready, sweet from the malts with a light hop aroma that accentuates and not overpowers. Flavors were spicy, a little bready, caramel malts and again that nice hop character that is present, but not overbearing. An excellent session pale ale.

On Tap @ Stumptown. Blame Vinie for having made so many other good beer that this one didnít just blow me away. Really wish I could talk to him about whatís behind it as with the dead leaf in the name I wonder if he wanted a supressed bitterness or if thatís just my imnagination running wild. Plenty fine beer to drink on a deck in summer, thatís one thing I do know.
