Sampled at the Carolina Crew gathering in Greenville. Big thanks to Turdferguson for sharing! Very oaky and lightly sour funky aroma. Nicely sour and tart flavor. Dry finish. Very easy to drink for a sour ale - a style that I don’t have much experience with and I haven’t enjoyed much in the past. Really enjoyable beer! Thanks, Sam!

Bottle shared at the Moeder Lambic cellar session 2015. Pours very hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of dusty funk, cobwebs, peppery notes and light tart fruits. Flavour is above light sweet and over moderate sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lovely to try and certainly on of the best US sours Iíve tried at this time.

600th sour rating. Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head. The aroma is funk, cherry skin, wood, brett. Thin mouth, lots of brett, nice funk, oak, tart cherry, stone fruit, low acidity, really enjoyed this one.

Red-orange pour. Nose is raspberries, lacto, wine barrel. Taste is raspberries, tart, yogurt, a slight touch of cardboard on the finish that goes away as it warms.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma has a nice, bright acidity at first but as it recedes you pick up some older notes and some light oxidation. A bit vinous with some light oak character. Light tropical fruit and stone fruit notes, but a slightly rotting fruit character. Pours a very clear, copper amber color with a medium sized, slightly off white head with never ending retention. Medium light lacing and small legs.Flavor is fairly acidic with some light vinegar notes and some medium light citrus. A medium light oak character with faint oak tannins. Some light oxidation with a hint of malt notes. Some cherry and dark berry notes with hints of stone and tropical fruit. Some moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, better than I thought it would be but it is also past its prime. Lots of fruit and more oak than I expected. Some light vinegar notes show through. A bit oxidized.

This one poured an orange color with a white head. Aroma was of dark fruits, vinegar, and light oxidation. Flavor was similar, fairly sour, Americanized sour brown, dark fruits, and light mineral character. Can tell its old, but still good.

Draft pour at Brouwer?s, 10th anniversary. Burnt orange pour, tangerine, peace, lemon juice aroma, very sweet and sour at the same time in the taste, really nice beer.

Draft pour at the Brouwers cafe 10th anniversary party. What a great way to celebrate! Pours a super fizzy orange color with a ton of head and lace. Fresh apricot and tangerine like aroma. Flavor is very much the same, which is fantastic. Has a lingering sour apricot flavor late in the palate. I donít know. Anything I could say about this beer wouldnít accurately describe how good it is. I started to wonder 8 my anticipation to try this beer finally may have swayed my judgement, and after about 2 seconds of thought, I decided no. Fantastic beer to say the least. Loved everything about it. I really hope I run into this again someday. Sum this up in one word: yes.

Bottle. Complex aroma of musty oak barrels, mild horse blanket, funky red wine tannins (which becomes fairly prominent after a bit), and a hint of caramel and vanilla extract. Pours a clear light copper color. The initial taste is sharply sour, with tart Brett and vinous notes briefly emerging before a faint ripe stone fruit flavor joins the fray, capped by a very dry and acidic finish. Prickly palate. Good, but itís past its prime.
