Sampled at the Carolina Crew gathering in Greenville. Big thanks to Turdferguson for sharing! Very oaky and lightly sour funky aroma. Nicely sour and tart flavor. Dry finish. Very easy to drink for a sour ale - a style that I don’t have much experience with and I haven’t enjoyed much in the past. Really enjoyable beer! Thanks, Sam!

Bottle. Complex aroma of musty oak barrels, mild horse blanket, funky red wine tannins (which becomes fairly prominent after a bit), and a hint of caramel and vanilla extract. Pours a clear light copper color. The initial taste is sharply sour, with tart Brett and vinous notes briefly emerging before a faint ripe stone fruit flavor joins the fray, capped by a very dry and acidic finish. Prickly palate. Good, but it’s past its prime.

Bottle. Orange pour with white head. Nice fruit, oak Brett and barrel aromas. Flavors are nice fruit, tart, spice, oak and funky flavors, this beer has aged well, sour beer is nice.

From notes. Tasted on 3/16/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at our epic Bottleworks tasting with Curtis, Jedi, and crews from Knoxville and Nashville. Pours clear burnt orange with a thin beige head that completely disappears. The nose is very sour with tons of brett funk, and a nice malty quality that might be amplified by some oxidation. The flavor really opens up with sour lemon peel, tons of brett funk, a touch of oak, and nice malt. The body is medium with light carbonation, lots of tannin, anda very long really great sour and funky finish.

Review #950!!! Huge thanks to Kramer for sharing this one with us at last nights Christmas Party. A perfectly cellared bottle since purchase is a rare thing with this one it seems.

Pours clear amber red with a half finger tall white head, quickly dissipating down to a light ring around the edge, leaving small streaks of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smells of woody oak, lactic sourness, tart cherries, light barnyard funk, dash of Greek yogurt, caramel sweetness and some wet cardboard oxidation. Taste is holding up much better than the nose is. Cherry skin, mild musty funk, dulled lactic sourness and only a light hint of the oxidation is present. Smooth, tart feel is much lighter than I had heard it would be making it remarkably easy to consume.

Overall I really loved this one. The nose is definitely suffering for its age but the taste is still awesome. I can’t thank Kramer enough for opening this one for us to try, thanks again buddy!!!

Bottle. Copper pour with a small ring of foam. Aroma is very oxydated: dusty, some nuts and tomatoes. Taste is still enjoyable. It is acetic, but there is a nutty sweetness and citrus. This one was definitly over the hill.

bottle shared by tom10101, many thanks bro! pours cloudy dark golden-orange with a small off-white cap showing minimal retention and lacing. bretts, toasted wheat, very peppery, other spices - aniseed, some fruity awkward notes, light to medium acidity, but everything is obscured by oxidation - old grass and off-fruity notes. light carbonation, light body, grassy-spicy and tart-citric finish. o-k..

Bottle 750ml. Pours hazy golden with low white head. Minimal to no lacing. Aroma is of acid, bretts, fruits. Taste is of acid, bretts, sourness, fruits, apricots. Palate: Light-medium body. Light carbonation. Overall: A tad too acidic. Quite good anyways.

Pours a hazy copper with a small white rim for a head that leaves low lacing. Nose is of tomato juice, vinegar. Taste is of vinegar and really acidic. This felt old and past its prime big time. The heavy acidity (acetic acid) makes this beer hard to drink, otherwise it would be OK. Body was light and carbonation medium-high. Pretty sure this was good when it came out but now it is simply dead.
