wetherel (905), Carlsbad, California, USA Apr 30, 2008 Tasted at PP bottle shop. Tim cracked this rare gem. Tuesdays are always better when Tim is around. Had side-by-side with Temptation batch 3, which I love, but this was better. Possibly partly because the Temptation was warmish, and the Deviation was coolish. Cloudy yellow color with a hint of amber. Mild sourness. An illusion of sweetness, possibly because of the fruity aroma and mild sourness reminds me of peaches. Certainly sweeter than Temptation, which was very dry (and delicious, which is hard for someone with a sweet tooth, like myself, to say). Nice mild funky and hay aroma. I like this better than Beatification batch 2, which I had a few days ago. Highly quaffable. Easy to keep filling my glass.
TURDFERGUSON (1021), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle from bitbucket. Thanks so much Bob! Pours orange and hazy with a thin white lace. Nose is very tart and bretty with a good but of oak. Flavor is a very nice tart and sour treat. Slightly acidic mouthfeel that keeps begging me for another sip. Its impossible for me not to love ever russian river sour that touches my lips. Simply Awesome. jjpm74 (2760), Connecticut, USA Jul 21, 2008 Finally getting to try this at a point where I can take notes. Pours gold with a white head. Smells dry, bretty, grassy, sweet, peppery, some tartness. Taste lives up to the nose. Nice! ucusty (849), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Carolina Crew Gathering Greenville, NC.Thanks turdferguson for sharing! Hazy orange pour thin fizzy head. Fruity aroma mostly green apple, and grapefruit. Medium bodied acidic treat! What a great beer and a real treat to taste! xnoxhatex (778), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 21, 2008 Big thanks to Drewbeerme for sharing this beer and being so patient for me to enter my rating of it. Hazy orange-red with a small beige head. Aroma is dirty sour red with cherry but mostly all I can say about this beer is it is really in your face with all parts of the aroma. Dirty strong green apple, cherry, strong acidic fruit, very nice. Medium body but very acidic. What a tasty beer to celebrate bottleworks 9th. emacgee (976), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Thanks turdferguson for sharing at the Carolina gathering. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. The nose is sour and tart, grapes, vinous, muscadine, some cherry pit, and a little funk. The flavor is very tart and sour, fruity, acidic, phenolic, muscadines. Very tart and acidic palate with a vinous dry finish.
