.this was the only non-ipa or sour we bothered with at RR last week, and i thought it was great. textbook saison...floral, fruity, with enough barnyard funk in the aroma and flavor to go around. i’d get it if it were ever bottled."

On tap at the brewpub, pours hazy orange with medium tiny bubbled white head, lasting with lots of lace. Aromas and flavor are Belgian yeast, pepper, wit fruit/spice, light hop flavor but bitterness is present. Aftertaste is malty and filled with some bread.

Growler via nickd717. Thanks again buddy. Shared with quite a few local BA’s.

A - Pours straw yellow with a dense two finger tall head leaving small streaks of lacing down the glass.

S - Smells like damp earth. Plenty of barnyard funk from the brett mixed with some light spice, most notably clove. I was expecting a bit more citrus in this one.

T - Lots of brett funk up front slowly giving way to a mix of bready yeast and light spice, mostly clove and a dash of pepper. Finish is chewy with a bit of lingering funk. I liked this one but it really needed that citric note to round it out. I hope to have this again one day.

M - Light body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Nice, soft, feel on the pallet. This was extremely easy to drink, I went back for more quite a few times.

O - I really enjoyed this one quite a bit. The flavors were simple, all be it a little dull, but it was very easy to drink. Thanks for the chance nick.

My favorite of the hoppy ales Russian River makes. A double edged hoppiness, not too overpowering, good for enjoying with cheese or food.

Tastes of bread, grass and yeast. Dirty tasting. I was not a big fan of this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ O’Brien’s: Poured a dark golden honey color with a thin covering of film head across the Chimay trappist glass cup. Aroma is lively with a spicy scent of authentic Belgian farmhouse yeast that even on my third beer of the night had me drooling with saliva to taste which usually isn’t the case with most other saisons. The drink was heavily spiced with notes of clove and perfume/cologne like flavors but has a taste also had a striking resemblance to ginger soda. Has an empty finish which is sort of watery but not a bad attempt at the farmhouse style.
