375 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy reddish/orange/purple color with a small, but immediately disappearing pink head. The aroma is tart raspberries, lactic acid, touches of vinegar and funk. The flavor is more tart to sour berries, lactic acid, funk, a mild vinegar notes. Prickly carbonation, but very drinkable for being a sour.

#1,000! 375mL bottle pours a glowing reddish/pink with a khaki pinkish head. Aroma mellow raspberry, lactic acid, light funk, with some wood. Wow, semi sweet and tart raspberry, light sourness, some wood one finish and aftertaste. Lovely!

Had this at Where The Wild Beers Are. Pours a deep ruby garnet with a thin pink to white head. Aromas of funky raspberries, and light wood tannins. Medium bodied, funky with a nice acidity and more raspberry jam. Lingering tartness and funk throughout the finish. Lovely.

375 ml bottle to snifter (thanks alexsdad06). Looks good; a semi-transparent raspberry with white lacing. Smells good too; tart and funky with a nice raspberry presence. Tastes like it smells with a nice, lively mouthfeel. Good beer!

Pours out so beautiful dark pink crystal in color with a nice white head. Aroma is so nice bring lightly sweetened raspberries blended nicely with a sour tart yeast. Flavor of the tart comes in right around the same time with the raspberries, tart overtaking the raspberries for sure. It is not as dry as Temptation, but still a bit dry for sure with the berries fading and the tartness lingering a bit longer.

2011 Vintage purchased at Ledger’s in Berkeley quite some time ago. Rating #3000. The aroma is very strong and quite pleasant. Dominant raspberry, but there is enough light tart musty acetic funk to make this more interesting. Really nice. Gorgeous moderately hazy candy-apple red body with a large, bubbly pink head that dissipates quickly, but then it maintains a nice head for a while afterwards. Absolutely stunningly beautiful beer. Starts with significant sour tartness. Light acetic notes. Some sour raspberry flavor comes through in the middle. It almost has a light medicinal flavor, though. Finishes with a dry, barnyardy tartness. This beer is badass.

NOTE TO TICKERS: If you share one of these little 375ml bottles with three of your friends (or six of your Danish friends) make sure you turn the bottle upside down and rotate before pouring. Otherwise the first few samples will be disappointing. I didn’t care much for my first pour, it was a clear dark red and it was too much of an acidic raspberry juice. Then I poured the rest of the bottle, the beer became cloudy and grained a lot of complexity.

In short: A sharp, tart, acidic and moderately funky raspberry beer. Excellent.
How: Bottle 375ml corked & caged, 2011 vintage, consumed 1 year after release. Bottle from MatSciGuy, thanks a lot Levi.
The look: Slightly cloudy bright red body topped by a small pink head.
In long: Nose has plenty of tart raspberries, a good amount of lactic acid, a nice farmhouse funk. Taste is tart raspberries upfront, medium lactic acidity, some tart lemon & grapefruit juice, oaky vinous notes, some tannins. Tickling carbonation. Not very complex but somewhat easy to drink for the style because of its refreshing qualities, gains a few points for drinkability. This 2011 version (same as 2012) which uses the Temptation base is very different from the original 2010 version which used the Beatification base, not even worth doing a side-by-side taste like I did. It’s admirable that Russian River makes this beer every year and it is also awesome that some celebrities are brave enough to support a controversial issue like being against cancer.

Bottle shared by kmweaver - thanks for this one! Beautiful pink/reddish pour with light pink head. Aroma is all raspberry. Lactic tartness, earthiness, some oak and then more raspberry. Lively carb, medium body, nicely coats my mouth with happiness. Reasonably dry. Solid, comes together well as all Russian River beers seem to do. Quite pleased to have had this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012 bottle (thank you for sharing, daknole). Beautiful lactic and tart raspberry aroma with a strange, herby tang (almost like fresh wildflowers). Incredible clear rose color with a wisp of a tiny-bubbled head. Wow, very tart flavor with some sweet raspberry before the sourness bites hard at the back of the jaw. Well carbed, tart body. Awesome.
