On tap at Monk’s. Pours bright ruby red with a small pinkish head that fizzes away pretty quickly to leave some blebs of lacing. Aromas of sweet and tart raspberry puree with seeds, wet hay and some funk, and oak. Moderately tart, with huge raspberry flavor, oak, and some barn and funk present. Prickly carbonation, insanely drinkable, very refreshing. Delicious.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2012 On tap at Monks for the ridic russian river event. Pours a slightly hazy cranberry pinkish red, small white head, lots of sporadic lacing was left behind. Notes of oak, raspeberry, vinegar, spice, wine(chardonay), tart fruits and funky yeasts. A lot more refreshing then the bottles of batch 1 and 2. Also lighter bodied, has a nice refreshing finish and aftertaste. Not as puckery as I remember but that makes sense being on draft and relatively young. Excellent

Bottle split with Simon on Mothers day. I was pumped to try this beauty, I have had a sample of the original batch at a bottleshare but did not take any tasting notes. This one poured an ultra bright and vibrant thai nipple red according to Simon. Aromas of gueze, raspberry, flowers, soaked wood, sour cherry lambic, chardonay from the Temptation. Taste was a rich raspberry and cherry soaked funky lactic barnyard sour with dark grapes, leather, peach, cherry, cheddar, and oak. Magnificent beeer from RR.

2012 draft at a Russian River event at Monks Cafe in Philadelphia. Very nice Rose color with a frothy pink head. Complex floral raspberry nose. Tasting the whole fruit, including stems and leaves. Vinous quality. Sour but not overly so. Only gently sweet. Some light earthiness. Pretty, fantastic, and pretty fantastic!

Bottle... Poured a gorgeous, vibrant red with a thin, lacy pinkish head. Nose had brett, funk, tart cherries. Some acidity with funk and musk and sharp cherry tartness and sweetness. Pretty amazing fruit sour.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2012 Bottle from a beer shop, surprisingly. Aroma carries the raspberries, and flavor tastes more like Temptation than the raspberries. Still, it comes through. Super crisp and clean. Very good beer!

375 ml corked bottle, 2011 edition, served at 43F in mid 2012. It pours beautifully, like a waterfall between you and a setting sun. The head quickly disappears like fog in an early summer morning. Behold! A raspberry patch has emerged with a magical eft picking the berries and giving them to a supermodel to place in your mouth one by one. Take your time with this beer for best results. My personal opinion is that I prefer Russian River’s other barrel aged sours, but if you can get your hands on one it’s an enjoyable experience.
