375 ml corked bottle, 2011 edition, served at 43F in mid 2012. It pours beautifully, like a waterfall between you and a setting sun. The head quickly disappears like fog in an early summer morning. Behold! A raspberry patch has emerged with a magical eft picking the berries and giving them to a supermodel to place in your mouth one by one. Take your time with this beer for best results. My personal opinion is that I prefer Russian River’s other barrel aged sours, but if you can get your hands on one it’s an enjoyable experience.

2011 bottle thanks to Rick. Pours a clear ruby with small pinkish head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a strong raspberries, funk, oak. Thin mouthfeel with nice sour raspberry, light oak, funk, lingering sourness. Very nice

Pour is ruby red with a thin pink head that disappears immediately. Nose is heavy raspberry, very fleshy and ripe, strong Brett notes, cobweb and dusty. Taste is heavily tart with loads of raspberry up front and heavy Brett behind. A touch acetic, extremely sour, cobweb and leather. Body is light, moderate carb, probably past it’s prime but not much and still very tasty.

Sampled at the RBSG 2014. It poured a dark pink color with a white head. The aroma was of raspberries, funk and a nice sweetness. The taste was similar with some mild tartness with raspberries, funk and sweet berries. Good stuff.

Sampled at the RBSG14 Grand Tasting - 2012 vintage - Pours reddish orange with an off-white head. The aroma has lots of tart raspberries, pithiness, light sourness and fleshy fruits. It has a medium body with semi-aggressive carbonation. The flavor starts with tart raspberries, citric acid, lactic acid and some funk. The finis is grainy, sour and clean. Really nice

12.7oz bottle. Tasted at RBSG grand tasting. 2012 vintage. Beautiful hazy red pink color. Minimal ring of head. Great, big raspberry aroma, lightly spicy.. Great bigger sour taste, light sweet. Medium to bigger body. Smooth kind of soft lighter carbonation, more dry finish. Awesome flavorful assertive framboise to try. Love it !

375ml shared by Madbeerbaron. Thanks! Pronounced raspberry aroma, earthy, fresh. pronounced raspberry flavor and on top of all that some nice sour tones. One of the better American Sours I’ve ever had. The raspberry is so pure and rich, and combined with the deep lemony sour tastes, is really sublime and delicious. Over the top awesome beer. World Class.

Vintage 2012 This thing pours pink, pink, pink. A nice light frothy pink on the surface. Smells of raspberries, lemon, lactic, grass and some more raspberries and their pithy, vegetal character. This beer is very, very razzy. Plenty of raspberry notes, some dry tartness, lacto tartness, some gain and peppery sharp notes. It’s tart, but has a hollow middle for me. Medium on thin bodied with moderate on hi carb and a semi dry finish. This one is good, clean and approachable. Serving type: bottle 10-12-2012

2012 vintage from Hoppypocket, thanks man! Pours a really bright red with a thin pink-ish head that leaves insane lacing. Aroma is of sour, fruity (raspberries...) and funky old cheese. Taste is tart but not too much with nice real fruit flavors. Not much sweetness and acetic acid level is low, only some lactic goodness. Body is light, carbonation moderate. Mighty quenching and quaffable. Awesome, really!

(375ml bottle) 2012 version. Lasting frothy pink head atop a red, non-carbonated body. Nice sourness, somewhat vinegar and club soda. Cherries through the finish. Good and thirst quenching. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
